How about "dry firing" into a pillow to de-cock? I imagine the back pressure as opposed to just aiming at sky or ground saves the wear but I'd think I'd still be disinclined to use this approach.....right? or overly cautious? Thanks, Tex A Zican

Thanks, So... just breaking the barrel like an inch to check bore and closing needs no procedure right? Sorry but the manual is confusing at best and once I read about pulling the trigger in certain positions I'm being extra careful! Thanks, Texazican

Howdy, Just bought my first quality airgun, the Weihrauch HW95. I'd shot a similar years ago and thought I had the basics down. One thing I liked was the ability to de-cock it and the salesman showed me a way by sort of half way breaking the barrel and pulling the trigger and to NOT dry fire...
