Orange Generic Mystery Compressor Rebuild Research (spritech/tuxing/etc)

I would do what Booder did and get a refund if you can immediately. Then see if you can fix it. F these people who are trying to make money on us by giving us a non serviceable product that doesn't last and hoping we're too lazy and stupid to do something about it.

Thanks for Booder for the quick turnaround, here is the 1st phase of the teardown. The symptoms of his issue is that his motor started making weird noises and slowing down. When he took apart the cylinder, the deep inner graphite rings were broken which may have contributed to extra friction? ...

Did they take the unit back too? If not I'd buy the parts from you so I can do some dissection and practice.

Those are great pics. My stabilizing shaft has a bearing on it. The shaft that needs to be oiled is my only concern. All the other contact points do not contribute to the air going inside my gun. And again, I'm not sure what grease will do if it gets into the shaft and into the piston.

I don't know what would happen if grease gets into the shaft and oring. But yes, I have a hole on the wrong side of the cabinet.

On mine the motor/piston access is by the "exhaust" side. The green is grease, the brass area is where I'm going to lubricate. I think I'll get a syringe and tube for future maintenance. At least it wipes off easily.

I'll take a picture of it later but when I opened the hood, first you see the motor, then a train like drive system which is all greased up. That doesn't have to be regreased for a while. The drive system is then hooked up to a shaft and the shaft is hooked up to the piston. The center of the...

So really the only way to get some oil in to one of the chambers of the piston is the middle. I will drop some oil into that today and run it with the foster plugged and the air release unscrewed. There's potentially another oring inside the piston that is inaccessible. The other videos...

Both of the links I shared, note that I have not tested the rebuild kit, just betting that every company used the same source or dimensions for their motor/piston. The rebuild kit is on Aliexpress are for tuxing so just search for keywords. I wish I had the time to take this unit apart but I...

I made a video with a few links to resources that might help if and when the unit decides to die. Hopefully this can help some people or myself when the time comes. I'd imagine that this would work for many models out there. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HlU4oSMIoJ0 TUXING AKA "SPARK...

Yet another Gauntlet 2 .22cal review

Haji has been helping me get my G2 working perfectly. I've been sending him emails and he's been great at answering them. I didn't buy it from him, if I did it might be working 100% out of the box.

Got the degas to work. Basically you're following the instructions (bolt closed, decocked, fired and safety on) insert the key the only way it can be inserted and on mine, put an angle on it towards the trigger. Then with force and control slowly spin. Hold on to it because if you let it slip...

Decided to superglue a 1mm piece of plastic in that spot. Drilled out the top countersinks as the screws were not going back in, now they are snug again. Not the prettiest but I'm about function over flash. For me I always use a bipod but for others maybe this is not an issue.

Here's the full 2nd part with a potential solution. I admit this may not be an issue that people would care about. If you're going to use a mid vice this or always use a bipod it may always yield the same results but still a potential issue for some. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-u6QIwY2sMU

Yet another Gauntlet 2 .22cal review

Concern, before I started testing today I noticed that the barrel was not free floating on the front handguard. This is a concern for precision bolt action rifle shooting and certainly applies to airguns. At first I thought maybe the way the barrel shroud work in airguns, maybe it won't be a...
