    Hi Mike, Thanks for the advice. I get what your saying. No great skill in just learning how to clamp your rifle to a bench I suppose. I've been looking on stance and holding techniques. Am I right in saying what I need is an artillery hold?

    Rick B I've Googled clubs near me and there's quite a few very close. I think I'll prefer shooting holes in paper too rather than creatures but I totally get that. Certainly the people on this forum seem like a great bunch. Thanks again for all your replies.

    Yeah Springrrr I'm with ya on that. No point in dicking about with cheap stuff because I'll only end up buying high end gear eventually. By dark side I take it your referring to PCP? I've not ruled them out but thought I'd try something simple, old fashioned and easy to maintain (like me)...
