    Huben Huben GK1 V1 VS V3R

In point of fact, I find it absolutely amazing HUBEN got it so right on their first iteration. I prefer my Version 1 over my Version 3. That is almost unheard of in manufacturing. In my humble opinion the GK! Version 1 is perfect find out of the box.

    Huben Huben GK1 V1 VS V3R

I think you need to do your homework on the history of first Huben and then the GK1. Huben is a small company and the GK1 was designed by Gregor Kamiensek and because of his prototype's success and demand convinced Huben to build a commercial version based on their design of their K1 rifle and...

Harmonic Barrel Tuners - Help or Hype?

I believe in physics, not old wives tales. So, to the question of whether harmonic compensators work, the answer is yes, but it is relative. If the vibration impulse is strong or if the assembly is low in mass and stiffness, a compensator corrective effect is also greater. However, if the...

    N/A Rating my PCP pistols

Very nice and expensive collection, but then I don't see a GK1. Get one of those, then make your comparison.

are the cheap compressors on ebay worth it ?

It's called basic adiabatic principle. When compressing any gas, the gas must give up heat. One of the major differences between the professional compressors and the cheap Chinese specials is the ability to dissipate that heat.

    Tank to Compressor

Everyone is looking for a free lunch. There is not one. HPA is expensive. Everyone that stays with PCPs long enough will own a professional compressor and several air tanks. One is not substituted by the other, you need both.. Consider that only 10% of any air tank's volume is actually usable. I...

are the cheap compressors on ebay worth it ?

No, in my opinion, they are not, but I can see the attractiveness of low cost. There is no such thing as inexpensive HPA (high pressure air). As an example, if you purchase a professional Bauer, it will be worth the same money you paid for it in twenty or even more years. These are supported...

N/A No more interest in PCPs

I also have a PP700SA and have owned it for several years now. It's a great pistol and very accurate. I love the factory grip and trigger. It had many issues, but after they were resolved it is a great pistol. I have written several threads on it in the archives, but then I got my GK1s - - - - -...

Huben The GK1 has ruined me...

I have a V1 and a V3. I prefer the V1, but I'm right handed. I have no desire for any of the offered modifications or accessories. It is perfect right out of the box.

N/A No more interest in PCPs

The OP is correct. The HUBEN GK1 is amazingly good, but I still shoot my FX Crown as much even though I have to be very careful not to bump the shroud because of the POI issues. Unfortunately for me, I have my eye on the new RTI Mora.

    Moderator Questions ??

A properly working mod will attenuate the pellet velocity. This is caused by the air column in FRONT of the pellet is also attenuated reducing the net differential pressure across the pellet.

    Air Venturi Spiraling

Using white-out on the skirt of the pellet helps as well.

    Moderator for 50 fpe?

You are correct about the correlation between moderator bore size and sound reduction. It really matters. In my many years of making moderators, optimum clearance between pellet and bore diameter is .020". Tighter clearance adds negligible value. Unfortunately, most commercial moderators use...

    PCP air rifles and OIL

For clarity: Dieseling is the correct term. Detonation is the collision of multiple simultaneous but separate flame fronts and yes it might, under rare circumstances, occur in an air gun. No petroleum oil should be used in an air gun not just for the case of dieseking, but much mor importantly...

Skout Today I’ve decided to change my forum name/handle….

The best kept secret in shooting competition is the shooter's solid belief that every miss is his and his alone. It is imperative that competitive shooters have total confidence in their equipment.
