There are 4 little wholes in which the preload spring can be inserted. Putting the spring notch in any of them will increase or decrease the tension of the spring. Increasing the tension may solve your issue.

Hello, I have some issue with my Maverick .22 Side-shot magazine. It won't index properly. I think the spring was not preloaded enough, so I had to open it. Stupid mistake!!! When I unscrewed the bolt, the whole thing broke apart because of the spring tension... Now I can't figure out where to...
