All nice builds but this one speaks to me…looks like a fun little shooter.

Don't know if you fish, but that would be a great tackle box gun, wiped down upon returning home of course –

Yep, something like that. just a cheapo pellet popper for camping, around the farm, whatever. =)

My WeeRod is my standby gun. Poor thing has developed a slow leak.

Oh wow! That's cool! Nestled in a discovery stock with trigger group?

This build is against the grain with the shortened barrel.  Discovery front sight, LPA mini rear sight, wood grips, brass bling. Wanted a pistol for simple/off-hand 10m plinking that would fit a normal holster. FPS be d*med!  Custom shop 2300KT with the aforementioned mods. I did have it engraved with "2240" just because. Went with.22 as Crosman pellets are dirt cheap from wally world. Its loud, slow, but feels good and well balanced.  😉

Air gunning, I believe, will likely remain a niche market. Much like black powder, bow hunting, cross bow, etc. Not to say it's a small community…only that it will likely never be a mainstream interest of the shooting masses.  That's ok…to each, their own. Variety is good for all of us!

.25 talonP…(since I already have it). Adjustable power depending on range/animal, relatively quiet with Donny FL, and hand pump-able.

    Wow, that's quiet!  I like.

Just throwing this out there for reference.  Here are some db results I observed on my TalonP using my Amazon $20 db meter. The meter is 5 ft away perpendicular to the muzzle.  My house is 10 feet behind which amplifies the sound (I think).

TalonP with no Moderator = 101.3 avg.

                with .30 Sumo      = 89.3  avg.

                with  .25 Tatsu     =  90.4 avg.

                with .25 Tanto      = 93.20 avg.

The numbers between the Sumo and Tatsu do not reflect the subjective difference. The sumo seemed much more quiet with a lower "wump" sound vs. the Tatsu with a sharper "wap" report.

Anyway, looking forward to hearing about your continued research.

I'm liking this Mad Max build, good idea of using of using spare Maximus stock, and they are cheap too.

Mad Max is right! Love all of the custom builds!

My aluminum tube is 23oz lighter than the steel OEM.

JSAR was selling mrod aluminum tubes sometime back and I bought one. Huge difference in weight compared to the OEM tube.

You will need a composite hammer in place of the steel OEM one… to reduce wear on the aluminum.

    Nice build there breaux!

As far as I'm concerned, the 2250/2400 format is a rifle as well as a pistol: it just depends on the configuration –

That appears to be a "Sheridan" tube, with maybe a MagnumAirpower filladapter/gauge set up?

I also have one of the Airmagnum 2260 tubes, and it has the pressure gauge in the Disco location.

    ROCK ON!

Thanks, yep…magnum air power 2260 tube, fill port/Guage. My daughter says it looks "steam punk" what with all the mix match stuff, tubes, guage, etc.

Love the Crosman 2240/2250 platform! Got his one for my son 20 years ago.  Used it for years then it sat in a closet until about 5-6 years ago.  The mod bug bit and it now has steel breech, extended probe, TKO, Magnum Airpower 2260 PCP tube, valve, filler gauge. Huma regulator. Trigger group replaced with wide roller trigger and adjustable spring and an adjustable hammer spring cocker thingy.

I shoot it as a pistol or carbine depending on where I'm going. I take the TKO and carbine stock off when using as a pistol for ease of handling/packing. Please forgive me: I know…this is a pistol forum…but the 2250 can go either way.  Here it is with the shoulder stock.

is the breech the same height as the stock breech to allow the barrel to align within the factory barrel band?

To ask a different way:  Does the breech raise the barrel up or does the barrel remain at the same relative height to the air tube as the stock breech?

Not that the stock barrel band touches the shroud but I like that the barrel band limits movement if the barrel/shroud is bumped.
