    Is this normal?

This photo shows a damaged original HW 80 seal with 4500 shots on it. The others are Vortek with varying degrees of heat damage. All lasted longer than the Vortek springs which broke with close shot count cycles of 7000-7500 shots each. Interestingly, the top left seal shows little melt...

    Tuning HW80 ....back in service.

My parts order arrived this morning. I got right to work getting the 80 repaired and reassembled. First was degreasing the new yoke screw and applying thread lock compound. Then on to the rivet pin. I used 7/16" balls for the first flaring step, then finished with 5/8" to fill the chamfer. I...

    Tuning HW80 ....back in service.

Well, my Harbor Freight chain break tool arrived today.....but not my spare parts order. I decided to break down the loose rivet pin condition. I taped the cocking strut to keep it in place. I used .008 brass shim with a hole punched to protect the blue steel from the tool surfaces. With all...

    Tuning HW80 ....back in service.

The yoke is dovetailed in and also has a key slot in the front. It was held in place by these two features alone. It still had some room to move around damaging the surfaces while still attached to the stock by the two screws. Open sight accuracy was not affected, I did not feel any odd fore...

    Tuning HW80 ....back in service.

I hit the 13,500 shots fired mark the other day with my 80. The mainspring was buzzing so I decided it was time for another cleaning and spring lube. Upon removing the stock I felt that the screw yoke had loosened up. The allen wrench simply removed the already broken off screw head. The...

What have you done with your airgun today?

This afternoon I placed my 10" saw blade target at 50 yards for a few shots. I have too many coats of paint on it now, does not ring very loud anymore. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cgmIN2liIL8

What have you done with your airgun today?

Yesterday I made an EZ set up three legged target frame to hang my .22 rimfire plates on. Used 3/8 ths. rebar and painted it. Gave it the stability test this morning. Hit the 8" dia. x 3/16 ths. hard plate with a handful of .22 cal. FTT's with the HW80 from 85 feet away. Looks plenty stable...

    Started working on my targets....

Your frying pan looks like a virgin. Mine has developed a metal fatigue crack in the center. Wife says bacon grease is now dripping on the stove.😄

    BIGGER TINS OF PELLETS.

10,000 14.5 grain pellets will weigh about 21 pounds. In one container? Imagine the carnage happening inside during the well known treatment shipped packaged goods receive. A dropped 21 pound pack would be a certain insurance claim.

    BIGGER TINS OF PELLETS.

I think about that guy that just posted dropping a full tin of 500. 1000 would be twice as bad.😉

Pesting#48 - Tagging crows with my FX Impact MK2

Excellent video. Those crows take a lickin and keep on ticken. What part of Canada are you in, eh?😉

    Iron Sights MOA 25 yards

I shot an exceptional 40 yard group 90 minutes ago. Absolutely still conditions, the sun was filtered by all the smoke from western US fires creating perfect light conditions, too. I fired up my grill and put the meal on auto pilot while shooting 50 straight shots on fresh white paint. All...

Is it wrong to hunt over bait?

nailed a few more, but only got little more on video. Had a few close misses, one walked into his demise. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GcqkMUgEdDQ The fragged one was spinning rapidly on the driveway severely wounded. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m9bM9fVtJqk

Is it wrong to hunt over bait?

A stinky wet meat absorption pad really draws them in. Had to cut my distance to 40 feet because they were too hard to see that well. Just cover the vermin with the tiny ball and squeeze the trigger. I am heading out for more action..... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EC03sHm_YYA

    HW80 10K shots review.

Was too hot and windy for anymore long shooting this afternoon. Back to my 100 F garage for some 50 ft. action. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5icna231AwA https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mdurfhPBEzo https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HLv1LYwGO2U ...
