At the moment it is my Daystate RedWolf .177 HP. I have a Ghost, and a Delta Wolf as well, but I still prefer the RW. I have an American Air Arms on order, and we shall see if it can unseat the Red Wolf from it's perch at the top.

Depends on the context. In the vein that you cite it may well be poor advice. In my experience every time I have tried to cut corners in the name of cost savings it has been a futile endeavor.

I appreciate aesthetics very much. Obviously the gun has to shoot. After that I look at fit, and finish. Machining, not only as function, but in overall finish of the piece. I don't care how good it shoots if it looks cobby. Put me down for a five.

As an update for those that may be reading this thread. I did go with the 110 0db. Turns out that it is so quiet that all you hear is the internals of the gun working at the shot. The 160 only made it longer, nothing else changed.

Sport Shooting Depot has some in stock as well. They may have what you need, ready to go. I needed a XXL, and they were able to put my grip on an existing order. Only took a couple of weeks.
