Thanks, When I got the pistol it came with the bottom of the original box. I scanned it and added text per this pic of the original box online. Here's my copy, close enough and it looks like it's over 60 years old!

I scored this vintage Co2 pistol at the Gettysburg Gun Show for only $40.00. So far I have found that Challenger Arms was in operation at Los Angeles, California from 1949 to 1951 making a side lever pneumatic pistol. Goodenow Manufacturing Corporation in Pennsylvania produced this Co2 version...

Initially found that the pistol would not hold the Co2 cartridge charge. I successfully replaced all the seals and poppet with the kit from JC Airguns. Took my time and learned a lot (with help from the net). Foremost is how impressive a design and build it is. It is a sweet shooter.

Picked up this S&W 78G at a small Maryland Gun Show today. Looks great overall. Not modified for the recall. "Q" serial series so probably 1978 production. Owner only wanted $50.00 for it so had to bite. Ordered the seals kit from JG Airguns.

Feeling better, Found out the springer doesn't like shooting from a hard rest. This is standing at 21'. Target is real tiny at that distance.😁

Well here's a five shot group a 20'. Looks like I we have some work to do!😃

Thank You. The bluing is really sweet. I am surprised at the light, crisp trigger pull. Gauged at a hair less than 1.5 lbs. with zero creep. Diana did not fool around in those days.

Unfortunately we both do "one and done" projects and move on to the next thing of interest. It is a hoot though.
