Lighting is key with any photograph, using a window light is best if you don't have proper equipment or lighting. If you can control the phone app, make sure you lock the AE/AF. If you have access to a DSLR or Mirrorless camera, that's obviously going to produce better results.

Oh I agree, I would rather just replace the seal. 

Have you tried using a seal pick? Also most replica pistols you would just replace the magazine if you couldn't replace the seal.

2.2 oz is a lot when it comes to a scope in my opinion. I've got the original release Helix in SFP, it will be interesting to compare them side by side.
