    HW/Weihrauch Hw80k versions

British importers of weihrauch disagree with this hysterically. I've not shot it so I can't say. But my mate has the 99s so ill have chance to shoot both side by side and make my own assumptions on that I guess. Many thanks:)

    Compression chamber and TP

I bought a hatson dominator recently. I'll never again buy a hatson. It got returned a week later. The firing cycle was fine, but the gun was just really cheaply built and the squeek it made when cocking was awful. Not something you'd expect from a new rifle, even at that price point. Ever...

    HW/Weihrauch Hw80k versions

I was curious about this, so I called the British import of weihrauch this afternoon, to discuss what I'd read almost profusely on the forums. I explained that, the HW80 runs slightly sluggish at 12ft-lb with it being a power house built for full power..... He laughed at me... and said, whos...

    HW/Weihrauch Hw80k versions

Unfortunately that is the nature of the gun culture here in UK. It's practically all older men, set in their ways and very VERY obedient to the law. If their gun runs at 12.1 ft-lb with any pellet, they strip the rifle down immediately and start hacking at the mainspring, with pride. When you...

    HW/Weihrauch Hw80k versions

Many thanks Ron. Heard so much good about the hw99s for the sub 12 market. A friend of mine has the 99 but im yet to shoot it. I think to summerise, hw80 is built to run at FAC levels, but dampened down with a weaker spring. And will run much more efficiently at FAC levels, including both old...

    HW/Weihrauch Hw80k versions

It's the part of the question you dont know, which is what I'm trying to ascertain an answer too. But fellow member A.G.R has shed some light on it. Basically they are all bulit to be FAC irrespective, but then dampened down with a weaker spring etc for the UK market. Apposed to being directly...

    HW/Weihrauch Hw80k versions

Initially it will be run at sub 12 right out the box, as bought in the UK. But once my FAC is granted, I'd like the ability to tune it up to the spec it was built for(17/18ft-lb) with out having to buy a new rifle.

    HW/Weihrauch Hw80k versions

Now I'm not following. Hw80 is the same gun in UK and US. Only UK version has thinner weaker spring with less preload but this can be easily tuned to the same capacity as the US full power, yes? Are you saying that FAC and sub 12 versions are built completely different, like comparing hw80 to hw99

    Compression chamber and TP

Great breakdown. I appreciate you taking the time. And good point with the hw99s. Completely explains what I was asking. One rifle is made to be full power, and the other is manufactured to be limited to 12ft lb. So wacking a 34 coil titan spring in a hw99s wont do it any favours. Do the same in...

    HW/Weihrauch Hw80k versions

So am I right in saying that, other than cosmeticly(and some small upgrades) the powerplant is the same across the board?

    HW/Weihrauch Hw80k versions

So they are all the same displacement, piston size spring size, port size etc irrespective of the year of production? That's good to know then as I wouldn't want to buy anything less than the best version, especially not at that price point. .22 for the hw80. With the power they produce it...

    HW/Weihrauch Hw80k versions

Hi all. I need a very pressing question answering, which I know my fellow airgunners will have an answer too. The HW80/HW80k. A staple example of a springer!... But... has the performance changed at all over the years? Is it still the same internally as it was 20 years ago, or has it been...

    Compression chamber and TP

Will an FAC spring necessarily have a greater coil count than a UK spring? So that part about a balancing act, I totally agree. But what are the American versions doing that the brits aren't, to achieve a well shooting 24joule spring powered air rifle. If we have UK and US identical rifles...

    Compression chamber and TP

Okay, lets explore that for a moment then. Spring being the only difference, are we talking a larger diameter spring in a larger compression chamber, or the same diameter spring but with larger coil count? And is it fair to say that, the stroke length is a huge denominator in the amount of...

    Compression chamber and TP

Just out of sheer curiosity, I've been toying with the idea. Now stay with me. I will make it as concise as possible. Assuming there was no legal limits to the power a spring piston rifle could produce AKA the American market, what differences to the internals of the gun are altered to...
