Yep, the GK1 is not air efficient or quite! Slowing it down will help.

I ran a quick test on the new compressor to top off a tank. I ran it for 10 minutes with no load and then let it rest for 30 minutes then I filled my tank from 3K to 4300. No leak detected. The gauge looks to be off by 30 bar, Oh well.

I have only filled tanks, 45 & 1 hr SCBA only 2 times from empty so far, but not in 1 sitting. I made my own cooling mods that make a difference. no ice for me, to much added time. I haven't changed the 5 gal water since I wrote the article...
