Predators see red as dull brown so they are not spooked by this red light. I've had good experience with my red filter. Also red is good because it saves your own night vision. Its easier for your eyes to adjust to a red light than it is for them to adjust to a white light.

So it not so much the style of stock, its the accessories you attach that makes it good for these activities?
