I made something similar with trimmer line, but I just folded over the tip about 3" and used about 2" of heat shrink tubing to hold it in place.

Black finish? Black Hardwood? I suspect it's the new synthetic stock. Hope it's the one you want, but I'd be leery. A quick lookup of the UPC 011482000709 seems to show it assigned to both stocks.

You may be the pacesetter here. The 3500 is new and not well covered. I have a 3400 myself and very happy with it, but I'm not experimenting with pellets. I'm just shooting Crosman .177 7.4gr wadcutters.
