    N/A Swing and a miss...

Growing up I ate a lot of antelope that was nasty. Had a buddy suggest I wear gloves and swap every time I touch fur before touching the meat. May have been a coincident but that antelope was finer fare than whitetail deer. My guess is the transfer of sage oil and/or scent glands imparts a...

    N/A Swing and a miss...

Put a bid on a Diana 34 on an online auction site and missed the winning bid by less than 15 bucks. It was probably a good thing since I drew a couple special hunt permits and had to buy some tags I wasn't planning on buying quite yet. Dang, hunting is getting to be a rich man's sport. I...

    Destructive squirrels meet their end

Off topic but my mechanic swears dryer sheets keep critters out from under the hood. At least mice and rats. I never knew I had to worry about squirrels and rabbits.

N/A Best bang (or plink) for the buck?

Thank you. That is a beautiful rifle. I live in Washington. A .22 -to .25 caliber air gun is required for game animals and I am hoping to take a few grouse with the rifle I purchase.

    Thanks for the ideas.

    Scope Base Mounting?

    Thanks. I'll look into that.

    And then there is scopes....

Like my previous post, I believe in buy right / buy once but I also am aware of the law of diminishing returns. What are some good examples of entry level scopes that punch above their weight for value? I will not be competing. I plan on a lot of backyard pinking and a little small game...

    Scope Base Mounting?

Looking for some advice on mounting scopes. All my experience is with traditional rifles. I am not familiar with the rail mounts I am seeing on a lot of the springers I am looking at. I believe in buy right / buy once but I also am aware of the law of diminishing returns. What are some good...

    Springer vs. PCP

I just looked it up. Somehow it had escaped my notice. Beautiful rifle!

N/A Best bang (or plink) for the buck?

Well... with it settled that I am leaning towards a springer for my first big boy air gun, what is best bang (or plink) for the buck? I am new to the sport and have decided to take the plunge. I am familiar with firearms but have never owned a high-end air rifle. I have been lurking around...

    Springer vs. PCP

Thanks for all the advice, everyone. Given the input, I think I'll snoop around for a good deal on a Diana 34 or similar. As some of you mentioned, I will probably end up having a blast, slip fall down and accidently buy a PCP as well. Best case scenario, I get a springer I love and never...

    Springer vs. PCP

First off, hello. I am a new member. I have experience with firearms. I am getting my youngest ready for his first big game hunting season. Logistically, it is a pain in the butt to pack up all the gear and head to the range or find a safe place on USFS land to shoot. Then I thought, I'll...
