Yeah I had a Persian that, as most Persians do eventually, got a fatal case of the c word. There’s so much cation about even handling these pellets, like we have to wash our hands afterwards, that I was concerned about even a small amount of exposure, especially for such a small animal.

I haven’t been able to find lead free .177 pellets in more than about 7 or 8 grains. At that weight, I’d need 1000+ FPS to rise above 12 fpe. Is there a single stroke air rifle that can do that? I don’t think my Avanti will do it.
