    Hand pump only for pistol?

The 1701p is a great gun! Very accurate, and very easy to hand pump. From 1600psi up to 2900psi took me 30 pumps, and gets 60+shots. You won't shoot it lower than that, and shouldn't need to empty the air cylinder for a while.

    PCP Pistol Recommendations?

Crosman 1701p. Buy from crosman, use AGNATION discount code, and get whatever rear sight, or optic, that suits your liking. Shooting jsb schak pellets, mine is a one ragged hole shooter at 10M off a rest, with open sights. Before I turned trigger pull down to 15oz. Easy to pump, 30 pumps on...

Start insuring your USPS packages. THEY WILL GET DAMAGED/LOST

Usps has been slow for me, but nothing lost. Used to be THE best option, not anymore. If amazon uses USPS, oddly enough, the package is on time. Makes sense?

    New stock coming along

+1 on the minwax antique oil finish. I've finished probably 10 stocks with it, from beech to laminate and walnut. When done correctly, it brings out the grain very well, and provides a long lasting finish. I won't use anything else, but I don't like glossy gun stocks. I use steel wool between...

Hand pumps: are the Hill Mk5 pumps worth the extra expense?

My MK3 is about 8 years old. I haven't used it a lot, but grease the main tube 2x a year with silicone grease, and change the dry pac as needed. My marauder has been hand pumped since I've owned it, same 8 years. I've had it fully torn down for a reseal a year ago...0 corrosion. I never notice...

screw-on vs. slip-on pellet tin lids

Crosman tins work well for me. I don't have any issues opening them, but I'm the guy at work who is both blamed for, and asked to loosen stuff that was "hand tightened" 🙄 My recent order of jsb schak pellets have a very nice screw on lid. They shoot well out of my 1701p, too 🙂

    Recommendations for some decent calipers...

I've had harbor freight for years. The newer ones are quite rough, my original set as smooth as the mitutoyos at work. Batteries don't last long...but are cheap on Amazon. LR44/357 type. Measure just as good as the mitutoyos at work. I need to have our calibration guy calibrate them...

    Cheapest PCP handpump

If you're going to hand pump, get a Hill pump. My mk3 is 8 years old, no issues...but I don't use it enough. Mostly used on my challenger and now 1701p, both easy to pump. Unless I start shooting my mrod more, it's all I'll need. 30 pumps took the 1701p from 1600 to 3000ps...6 of those to get...

    So who believes this crap?

I got the same kind of target with my new (as of tuesday) 1701P. I'm guessing they use CP 7.9gr pellets, which just plain DO NOT punch clean holes, but are better than any wadcutter they make... And, again, they state they are machine rested.

Short vid of Red Squirrel at 10 yds

I'm on my second red squirrel of the season, first was about 15 or so yards, second was 20-25 yards. Marauder .177 tuned to 16fpe. Both have flopped around once or twice, but nothing concerning. They are pure pests here, they get into my porch/garage and will create a mess, and even at 1/3 the...

    Reliable, serviceable hand pump

Love my Hill MK3. Its about 5 years old now, though not much use. When my Marauder is empty, I fill to 1000 psi or so, bleed and take a break. 2000 psi, the same, then 3000psi and i'm done. Works for me. Normal fill is 2200-2800, easily done without a break. All I have had to replace was the...

What gun won't ever be sold and what did you sell that you still cry over?

I'll never sell my Crosman 1077. Bought when I was 16, I'm 34. It doesn't yet used much but, it's a fun gun for what it is. Also won't sell my .177 marauder, great shooting gun. Only guns I regret selling are numerous rimfires.
