Design Flaw in FX Wildcat MK3 and Maverick

Well, it doesn’t really slide unless if you were to try and turn the power wheel with the gun cocked, which you’re explicitly told not to do. Although, in lessmundane’s case, that’s what happened. The damage is caused by the screw ramming into the wheel in the same spot over and over.

I emailed FX and they got back to me almost immediately. The updated parts will be sent to me.

This is the solution. Widen the contact area so the force is distributed over a wider area. I’ll contact FX and see if I can get the updated parts. This should be covered under warranty.

It’s not just the detent area; that’s just the anodizing. Look at where the ramped area is that changes the hammer spring preload. Those little circles are where the set screw bangs into the wheel. Any change in surface height is a change in hammer spring preload, so it is affected over time.

Design Flaw in FX Wildcat MK3 and Maverick

While troubleshooting a change in velocity in my FX Wildcat MK3, I found considerable wear on the power wheel. The hammer spring adjustment set screw had been beating into the aluminum wheel, causing a change in the hammer spring preload. This isn’t just wearing of the anodizing; this is an...

    MK 2 - M3

No, it’s definitely true. I heard it from the same reliable source that said the reason they changed from MK3 to M3 was that Elon Musk suggested it to Matt Dubber when they were toking it up at his place in SA.

Is FX the PCP-world equivalent of Tesla?

No. Unlike electronics and vehicles, there is a physical limit to how much energy you can get from compressed air. Let’s be real... all of these fancy gadgets and add-ons don’t contribute to any real performance increases. You’re still just pushing a pellet at 880 and you’ll never get a slug...

    MK 2 - M3

It’s not a tool, it’s a luxury item. You are kidding yourself if you think otherwise. I’ve heard rumors from FX assembly workers that the Chinese factory that manufactures their parts accidentally forgot the “k” so they just decided to roll with it and call it the M3. I’m sure they’ll be...

    MK 2 - M3

I personally hate the M3 decal on the side. It’s too bold and doesn’t fit the gun.

    Anyone use the GX pump?

I had it. It worked really well! I bought it just to use my rifle while I waited for my air tank and Hong Yeng to arrive, then I returned it. I would've kept it if I was into hand pumping, though.

    Fx wildcat mk3 chassis

I've been wondering too... I'd like an AR style grip on it and sling mounts.

    Tuning Making a 600mm Wildcat MK3 .25

Just thought I'd update and say that I've abandoned this project after dragging my Wildcat through the bushes yesterday in search of quail. 500mm is about as long as I'd want to hike around with. I may even consider a Leshiy 2 for a more compact gun.

Can't find any fault in my MK3 .25 Compact. Only thing that could make it better is for it to be semi-auto, but even then, it would be it would be hard for me to justify replacing it. I'll be keeping mine for a long long time!

Scope Reccomendation For Hunting A Less Than 50 Yards

I'm quite happy with my Hawke Airmax 4-12x40. It's plenty of scope for under 50yds.
