    Titan element 5-25x56 ffp Review

I also have a 5-25 FFP Titan and I am not really all that happy with it either. It is a serious boat anchor and started on an FX M3, but is now relegated to my bench/range 30.06 because they're both overweight and make a good pairing. That said, in that price range you can get a lot better...

Carbon bottle on a wildcat vp

I had a spare bottle and case went with the .30 Wildcat VP for the 600mm barrel. I got the barrel length I wanted and saved a few bucks. I also feel the 600mm barrel gives the best of both worlds for maneuverability and power.

    Arrow barrel on fx impact?

There are videos from a few years ago of Ernest running an impact with the arrow barrel. He fletched the FX arrows with feathers and then trimmed them so they would fit through the rail support openings. He had good results. I have the barrel kit and have it on my to do list to try it on my...

    Crown vs maverick vs ?

I have both a crown and a maverick. Both currently set up for .25 cal with the crown running the 380mm barrel and the maverick running a 700mm heavy liner. I have run the crown with the arrow barrel and .22 and .25 500mm barrels and the maverick from .22 500mm to .30 700mm. I shoot the crown...

Beginner 1k budget... PCP or Break Barrel?

Benjamin Akela or Marauder, Yong Heng, use the change for whatever Athlon scope and rings you have left in your $1K. Although I have nicer guns, the Akela I got for $425 sits by my backdoor and does most of the pesting around the garden.

    Less than lethal?

You've asked on a public forum, so there's a record, keep that in mind. Hypothetically, and as someone who raised chickens and ducks for years, you might consider the following options. You want to keep things neighborly. You've already raised the issue once with the neighbors, that's all the...

    I'm really curious.....

IR for me is a must and I won't buy a scope without it. As mentioned, low light/ night use it is pretty essential and even during the day in dark timber on a dark target, it's very nice to have. Also, as mentioned, with a FFP scope on it's lowest magnification, a good IR that can be seen in...

It is official, lead ban in Denmark

Some interesting science: https://www.pnas.org/doi/10.1073/pnas.1203141109 I remember reading this when it first was published and it didn't get much press because it essentially admits that the lead ban to save the California Condor is ineffective, which is what started the whole lead ban in...

Tuning Actual vs. advertised power for FX Wildcat mkIII Compact .25

The 2.5" plenum is a game changer for the Wildcat Compact. My gun will now shoot the 34gr JSB/FX at 880 fps. It also shoots the Nielsen 29.5's like a laser at 915-920fps, and that is what it is set up for now. I was blasting ground squirrels with that set up yesterday at 100 yards and it's...

Video Highlight: FX Impact M3 NEW .35 cal Slug Liner + Meat Grenades or Meat Missiles?

Thanks for sharing this detail. I'll stop experimenting with the standard 600mm liner and hope I can one day get my hands on a 600mm heavy .35 liner. I think I could find a use for the hybrids and a 600mm .35 set up with MOA accuracy at 900 fps.

Video Highlight: FX Impact M3 NEW .35 cal Slug Liner + Meat Grenades or Meat Missiles?

My experience with the .35 hybrids thus far in the standard liner has been frustrating. I have a 600mm barrel on my M3 .35 and I am pushing them @ 900 fps and I have yet to get satisfactory groups beyond 60 yards. They can go as fast as 915-920 fps out of the 600mm barrel at 165 bar on the...

At what point does a pellet become a slug?

A pellet becomes a slug when it identifies as such. Pay attention to the pellet's preferred pronouns, whether it flies straight or spirals off to the left, and other identifiable and vague characteristics. Then, forget it all and just accept everything for what it is. In reality, classifications...

    Chinese scba tanks?

Acecare tanks work well. You can get high quality vales, fittings and lines from Best Fittings in the UK. As mentioned, most of the world uses those threads. You can save a little money and get a great valve with an Acecare tank. https://www.bestfittings.co.uk/

Big Game Hunting with Airguns in California (Podcast)

Include me in the "we" who is against this movement, as it will cost more than it will gain. Less than 1% of the population hunts in this state, one of the lowest percentages of hunters per capita in the nation. Sierra Pacific, one of the largest private land holders in the state use to allow...

Big Game Hunting with Airguns in California (Podcast)

I agree that in California, it's an issue best left alone as is. The battle with the Antis is just not worth it, and it will come in full force backed by wealthy animal rights activists from the Bay and Sierra Club support. Currently, we can hunt coyotes, turkeys, quail, squirrels, etc. There's...
