Euro HFT Here in the US?

Great, sounds like a plan. We can run it up the flag pole and see if they salute! Looking forward to seeing you at our NEFT League matches soon..

Euro HFT Here in the US?

I appreciate your background information about the evolution of AAFTA and the Hunter Class and fully understand where you are coming from. But I, like many others, got into shooting to have fun and not necessarily to compete against anyone else but myself. I don’t need to always shoot AAFTA...

Euro HFT Here in the US?

I understand the “comfort factor” that has driven the evolution of the Hunter class and its role in helping to maintain what we all understand to be the older generation of people that have typically been participating in our sport. But what about our responsibility to interest the younger...

Euro HFT Here in the US?

I totally understand but I would still like to try this format and humble myself. The problem is that you can’t just take a 12fpe gun and a suitable, large depth of field scope to a match here in the states and try it out. The course has to be set up to Euro standards (8-45 yd. target ranges...

    Field Target Shooting Positions

I don’t disagree with you. I shoot Hunter class with a bucket and bipod too. I just wanted to share another way to shoot better with a monopod.

Euro HFT Here in the US?

I’ve been reading about and watching many videos about HFT competition in the UK and Europe. Although similar to US Hunter Class, the format looks to be quite interesting and challenging. Shorter target ranges (8-45 yd), prone shots “off the peg” but no seats, no bipod but supported...

    Field Target Shooting Positions

Alternative method for shooting with a monopod. From Tom Gaylord, Pyramid Air, January 2015. Rest the tip of the monopod under one foot and the shaft on your opposite thigh. Press forward and down on the yoke with the stock fore end to create stability. Try it, it works quite well.

Do-All Quadrant target (don't do it)

Agreed. I’m a big fan of “shooting dirt” and often shoot at small objects placed on the berms at our club. You either hit the target or see the miss in the dust. Best part? No target setup or takedown required!

Are we doing hunter class wrong?

I just took a new shooter to his first match last weekend in Palmer, MA. He has been practicing with me for several weeks and had developed some understanding of range finding and holdovers and was armed with a good dope sheet. However, he had little experience in ranging targets in a match...

Are we doing hunter class wrong?

Sorry I am late to this discussion, however I have found it to be one of the most interesting and useful discussions I have found here at AGN. I am relatively new to airgun shooting but have been fortunate enough to have found FT shooting with several other interested shooters with a varied...
