Air pressure will vary with temperature. When you fill, the air gets warmer as it's compressed. Then when you go out into the cold, the air cools off and as it does the pressure drops. It's not usually anything you need to worry about.

64 grain Patriot hollow points just barely fit. Getting decent results with them. Best speed seems to be at the low to mid 800 fps.

The original Gauntlet 30 is 1:18 twist. I'm not sure about the SL, but it is probably the same or near it.

I am not sure what you mean. Did it register a shot, when there was no shot? I have the V2 as well. Rarely, it will fail to register a shot.

Check that you don't have the hammer spring screwed in too far, that's easy. Next you have to check that the trigger group is properly screwed in. That's a bit harder. (I believe there is a note along those lines for someone else's post. ).

Yeah I agree absolutely. Things like choked vs unchoked, real not nominal caliber, barrel twist rate... and posting not FPS, but FPE with a variety of projectile weights... that would go a long way. Right now it's nearly impossible to fully characterize airgun without spending many hours of research

In the EU, lead solder is 'verboten'. In the USA you can still get lead though. The standard lead electronics solder is about 60% lead and 40% tin. Makes it pretty hard. But yeah in a desperate situation it's sure worth a try!

Check your de-gassing screw. I had to tighten it on mine. edit: I have the original Gauntlet 30, bolt action. But the rest of the gun should be the same.
