HW/Weihrauch My next HW is finally here! Jump to end.

Here's the llnk to Tony McDaniel's show in Hickory, NC - just two weeks away - October 10 / 11! Would be great if you could make it (and the rest of you guys, too, LOL). https://www.tmacsairgunservice.com/airgunshow.html It's a great show! Lots of vendors; emphasis more on vintage stuff but...

HW/Weihrauch My next HW is finally here! Jump to end.

An option for the Tech Sight is this aperture set with an alternate post, which accepts one of three small snap-in flexible disks with different opening sizes. As you can see, I needn't have bothered as I ended up using the the same 0.062" as the out-of-the-box post! But the smaller or larger...

HW/Weihrauch My new gun has droop.

Most interesting discussion. It makes me appreciate that I am spoiled by mostly shooting old HW's with tall rear sights, LOL. Dumb question from an amateur mechanic: could the manufacturer improve this situation, by mounting the sprung breech bolt so that it could rotate a degree or two off...

HNGD...!!! (= Happy New Gun Day, as the Brits say!)

    N/A What’s your favorite springer?

Fabulous rifle - and coming from the guy who's probably shot, studied, and worked on more types of spring-piston rifles than anyone I know - a solid recommendation!

HW/Weihrauch "Pellets and Pistons" does the HW 55!

Not that I am in any way qualified to give advice to a gent of Kevin's experience! But my old eyeballs can't use aperture sights without an adjustable aperture, and one with a 1.5x lens added is better still.

    Crosman For the hangun lovers!

Thanks! Both grip sets in the pic are Beeman accessories from about 30 years ago - no longer available. The sport grips on the Tempest are fairly common on the used market, and other skilled folks offer similar ones today. The adjustable-palmshelf match grips on the Hurricane are quite rare...

    Crosman For the hangun lovers!

The sweetest to shoot might be the Hammerli Master, a CO2 match pistol from the 60's / 70's. Elegant, light, recoilless, accurate, really fine sights and trigger. But the FWB 65, a recoilless springer of the same era, is the last one I'd part with, not only super accurate but good power too...

Airgun Technologies The Future of Springers – Are We Still in the Game?

"EL 54" was the name of the ether-injecting mechanism. Theoretically it could be applied to any springer, but I've only ever seen them on the HW 35; those guns had "Barakuda" stamped on the breech block in place of "HW 35." The Barakuda was very successful, and not on the market very long...

Enhanced dieseling is not a new idea. You might find it interesting to google "EL 54 Barakuda."

    HW/Weihrauch Weihrauch size comparison.

Awesome scan! Much obliged, and already saved, LOL.

HW/Weihrauch "Pellets and Pistons" does the HW 55!

Not that I'm excited or anything, but Kevin's most recent video covers my all-time favorite air rifle! Done in his usual engaging and informative fashion, of course. Definitely take a look if you haven't already. Fellow vintage target gun nerds will also enjoy another recent video on the...

    HW/Weihrauch Weihrauch size comparison.

I have an R7 like that one and had not noticed the barrel length or grip diffs, very interesting. I do love shooting the little dude! I guess Doc B preferred a little more weight out in front. The barrel also went from 14mm on the old HW 30 and first-gen R7 (stamped end cap, no safety) to 15mm...

    HW/Weihrauch Weihrauch size comparison.

As Ron said, it's less about dimensions, more about weight and balance. The HW 30 / R7 is shorter and less nose-heavy, which gives me a nice sensation of connectedness (if that's a word?) and control.

Airgun Technologies The Future of Springers – Are We Still in the Game?

Very true! Legend has it that the original HW 50 - less powerful than today's, but identically sized, and similarly a step up in size and power from the contemporary HW 30 - was the favorite HW product of the original Herr Weihrauch himself. He kept his personal 50 in his office, and was known...
