Nope, the lightened valve spring gave me a huge power bump, but an immediate downward shot string. So if you want more than a couple of shots to hold zero, it's a no go. The factory valve spring is remarkably consistent. And thanks! I painted the gun myself with duracoat and stencils.

Isn't the HP Standard Custom a 20.5" barrel? I assume your gun says Varmint on the receiver? Maybe they just sent you the wrong gun by accident?

I put a .58L CF bottle on my HP Varmint and it's a great upgrade. Higher shot count, and the center of gravity is much better with all the weight savings.

AEA Varmint in 25. The rifle was $599.99, so it makes the cut. It actually shoots slugs better than pellets. I can cloverleaf 36gr H&N slugs at 50 yards and 910 fps. I've since added an Arca Swiss rail and an overtravel stop on the trigger.
