These guys can run away and very fast if hit anywhere on the body. Go for the two head shot spots. If you miss entirely they will wait round for you to take another shot

No response from Tony yet but with careful filing of the sharp edge, the probe now slides past the o-rings with little resistance. So I guess things are ok. Thanks to all for your suggestions.
