Vortex Viper HS 6-24×50 vs Hawke Sidewinder 30 6-24x56 IR SF

I would like to say, YES, the paralex on the Vortex can be altered. I am now the proud owner of the Vortex Viper PST 6-24x50 ffp with ebr2c mrad reticle. The Vortex scopes do come with a minimum paralex of 50 yards. Which is a shame for airgunners like myself that like to shoot upwards of 15...

What is your Backstop made of?

If I'm shooting in the back garden (close range) I find a find a tough rubble sack filled with sand is very effective for these reasons; 1) It contains the fired pellets really well. 2) Its cheap to buy. 3) It muffles sound on impact better than timber so it doesn't arouse any nosey neighbours!

    First Focal Plane Scope Owners

Yes, I've seen the Bobcat video, but the reference I was making was a quote he made when he went to Vortex Optics for his quest to find the ultimate Christmas tree reticle. Its not a youtube video but if you Google Teds holdover, its in there. If you could ask Ted how close you can shoot within...

    First Focal Plane Scope Owners

Thanks guys and thanks LDP because I've got my eye on a Vortex Viper which is a minimum paralex of 50 yards. Ted of 'Teds Holdover' reported that the image is clear at 10 yards, and as a PCP airgun user I was hoping I could use one on targets from 15-60 yards. People are telling me to find...

    First Focal Plane Scope Owners

Anyone with an FFP scope with a minimum paralex of 50 yards answer me this one question please; On a lower or lowest magnification, can you see a small target clearer at a much closer range than 50 yards? If so, how close? (Yes, that's 2 questions) Thanks.

    Vortex paralex recalibration?

I absolutely love the Vortex reticles, EBR-2B, EBR-2C, XLR. My problem is that I'm using an airgun where most scopes suitably paralex down to 10-15 yards and the Vortex scopes with the aforementioned reticles have a minimum paralex of 50 yards. Does anyone know of or had experience with...
