I read Hawke scopes started out making scopes for Springer air rifles. So, if I want something to take recoil I go with a Hawke scope. My friend has 2k rounds of 338 Lapua Mag through a rifle w a Hawke scope on it.

You could pull the bullets then size them with a Lubrisizer. Getting the Lubrisizer & dies would have some initial cost, but it would work. Probably better off casting your own slugs & sizing them though.

When something like that happens in shooting it is usually attributed to loose scope ring or mount screws. Make sure they are all snug. Some use blue or green loctite on the screws even. I like using a Fat Wrench to put on scope rings. Usually 18-25 inch pounds. Start there.
