Around here the CCI Subsonic is plentiful and cheaper. My experience is only with HS hollowpoint shorts and those were louder.

Food for thought, my 24" barreled Remington .22 is as quiet as my Gamo Fox when I shoot subsonic ammo. No suppressor needed.

I feel your pain. I did almost exactly the same as you. Bought what looked like a bargain on a whim and should have bought a Diana 34 but here we are. I can almost guarantee a big part of the problem is your hold. Search for videos on the "Artillery Hold" That solved 80% of my difficulties...
