Same here, being able to hand pump my two little PCPs is worth the effort. I will pump until I am too old and weak to do it anymore…

Caliber changes are “overrated“ particularly for small, low power platforms like the Atomic/Ranger XRs. They are simply solid for their intended roles, proven through field use by many. Just buy a second gun as switching calibers, in “theory” sounds great. In “practice“? 🙄

Own airguns first as a boy (BB gun) and pellet guns throughout my teens, segueing to firearms. Mostly shoot my PCPs because of the practical convenience. Firearms will always have a place in my stable…🙏

It is heartening to read that many here understand the seriousness of mice pesting… lots of hunters/pesters have been “mauled” badly. They don’t post up because it’s embarrassing to be beaten, nearly eaten by a mouse. To the OP, good shooting on that lil man killer…

Just scope it and go walkabout, my little Atomic, capable to 50+ yards on small critters…. Very light and right,though I’m still fit and strong. I don’t like carrying about heavy guns…

I second trying a different pellet… The pointy pellets are no bueno as you can see for yourself. Try some Crosman Premier Hollow points, you can buy them at Walmart and they’re under $10 a tin…. Your groups at 25 yards should at least me m.o.r. … Minute of Rat…

You already have experience with the awesome Brocock BRK platform, simply make your choice. The Commander and Sniper? Same gun, only difference? The folding stock. The biggest downside to the Brococks/BRKs ”is” that they are “drama free”, they simply perform. If you seek drama and the “chase”...

You are a lucky dad and Cabe a lucky son to share such a time together. Mom will have that less than enthusiastic memory of Cabe presenting that bird for years to come… And will probably smile at the memory… 🙏

I enjoy watching “some” pesting videos but anything over 5 minutes? I pass on… Short and sweet. An AGN member has been posting very short ratting videos (2-5 minutes tops), which keeps me coming back to see a few of his rat kills… Those who regularly post up pesting content would likely benefit...
