Indeed very convincing and a great test. But why does everyone say not to use petroleum based products on airguns because it eats away your seals? In the test it doesn't seem to have an effect on the polystyrene.

I read that wd40 is not good for the O ring. I used some wd40 to remove some rust spots on the outside of the gun keeping it away from the breech. But I also see rust specks around the seal that I want to remove. The internet is a good source of information but there are a lot of contradicting...

Like the title says, what oil can I use as rust prevention besides mp5 oil?
