    An alternative is to find a welding supply store and get nitrogen from them. Get yourself a large bottle that is around 6000 psi. Now you’ll have an awful lot of refills for a relatively inexpensive price that has a couple of benefits. One benefit is dry gas - don’t have to worry about corrosion...

    Uragan or Taipan

    I too have a Taipan Vet in long (.25 cal though). As mentioned above only con I can cone up with is they are heavy. I went with the Vet because I hand pump, and I’m glad I did - hand pumping the Uragan seems like it would be a pain since the bottle is larger (then again, I’d get more shots...

    Hand pump friendly pcp

    In addition to what everyone above says, I would look at your budget - a pcp with a pump may end up being more than a springer (depending upon what equipment you are choosing). Personally I was in the same boat as you a while back and decided to go with a pcp for a number of reasons...

    Thank you all for your input. I’ll probably end up going with the Short - it doesn’t seem that there are any .22 standard in stock in the US at this point in time.
