hBN (Hexagonal Boron Nitride) vs fouling

I just sprinkled the powder in the tin of slugs and shook the tin. It seems to cling to the slugs evenly. As for accuracy. I’m not 100% sure. But seems to be better??

hBN (Hexagonal Boron Nitride) vs fouling

Here’s a picture of 4 slugs pushed through the same barrel. 2X on left were not lubricated with hBN. 2x on right were.

hBN (Hexagonal Boron Nitride) vs fouling

Well I have to say I shot the Sunday before and I wasn’t getting these kinds of groups. But I can’t say for sure as the conditions were different.

hBN (Hexagonal Boron Nitride) vs fouling

Tried out hBN for myself. All I did was sprinkle it onto a tin of slugs and shook the tin. The slugs looked to have been coated evenly. I did not notice any loss of FPS. Not sure how that’s happening to others. I’m using my home made .25 34gr slugs at 950-960fps out of M3 Impact. These were my...

Tuning FX Impact Mk2/M3 - slower first shot - no reg creep - quasi-scientific analysis

I’m having some good consistency with the peek spacer and FKM 90 oring. Better than what it was. I can’t make your modification using the MK1 nut and FX will never modify it, so I’m left with the spacer and Viton oring.

Tuning FX Impact Mk2/M3 - slower first shot - no reg creep - quasi-scientific analysis

The FX Impact M4 parts drawings are out. Look what they for the valve rod O Ring. Although it says FPM 90, I think its a FKM 90 oring. Unless someone can confirm that FPM 90 exists.

Tuning FX Impact Mk2/M3 - slower first shot - no reg creep - quasi-scientific analysis

UPDATE: no leaks with FKM 90. First shot is still low fps But second and subsequent shots are spot on. I watched a YouTube video by Ernest Rowe on the M4 and I found his response to a comment interesting about the valve rod plenum seal. Someone from here commented on his YouTube video about...

Tuning FX Impact Mk2/M3 - slower first shot - no reg creep - quasi-scientific analysis

Put the FKM 90 oring in. First shot was about 20fps slower. Second and subsequent shots were pretty much spot on. Consistency seems ok. Will need to do more testing. Previously with NBR 90 oring I was still getting second and third shot lower fps. PS: I am using the peek washer mod aswell.

Fx can now actually say it’s a match grade trigger.

Tuning FX Impact Mk2/M3 - slower first shot - no reg creep - quasi-scientific analysis

I’m trying out some FKM 90 orings. They seem much harder than NBR 90 orings.

FX Lock this thread please- Discussed with Fredrik, there is no evidence of POI shift in FX barrel liner system

Of course FX see no issue. They don’t see an issue with imperfect crowns either. I am getting good groups when it’s tuned right. But im finding its very sensitive to changes in whatever.. I’ll get a great group on one target move onto the next target and the group has shifted POI. This on the...

If at the time Mercedes was the only viable option then thats the only choice. Now there are other contenders who are gaining ground. If I was a top shooter with $20K on the line, I’d be choosing a rifle that in LESS THAN 1 YEAR has taken out numerous 100yds pro competitions.

In a F1 race, if most of the top drivers drive a Mercedes year after year, then chances are alot of Mercedes are going to be in the top 10. Selling a lot of guns is down to great marketing. Doesn’t mean the product is perfect.
