Im pretty sure its aluminum because sanding with sandpaper was extremely difficult[as it should be -it's aluminum oxide we are sanding here, with aluminum oxide paper :/ ]. Ok thanks. I thought it's stainless steel because it's durable yet it won't get blued by a standard bluing compounds. Rubbing blue remover didn't do anything[normal steel gives that light gray color], and rubbing muriatic acid onto the tank created quite a dark layer[it should also be light gray...

Most of PCP tanks are made from stainless steel, yet they are blued/blackened. I heard it's impossible to blacken/blue the stainless steel? Is there a way to do such thing at home?

The best solution would be to use vertically split scope rings or something like BKL. BKL is expensive where i live though. The typical scope mounts with just one clamp on the side cause a little axis offset or cant in the scope, it sits that 1-1,5mm off center or more if it become angled...

Will that fit? 3/8 is wider so im afraid the rings will cant/angle the scope to the side. 

Never used harris bipod and im curious -does it allow a slight pan/traverse of rifle for windage correction holdover? Like 1-2 mils/6-8MOA for each side? Because if not i imagine i will need to reposition the whole rifle with bipod. On the other hand i can't imagine that it won't allow any...

Which one would you recommend? For me the answer is simple -i really don't like these hunting/soviet style reticles with human sized[?] target rangefinder. Im not shooting humans for christ sake!
