You look young for being an “old guy”…now I can put a face to your posts. Your shot was respectable for an old guy too! Thanks for the heads up. John

Nice!…looks like you trued up the edge too! Did you make the sheath? That pattern is super handy…took one with me to Somalia, had a longer handle..the only axe in the country. Got a lot of use pointing and driving stakes, clearing brush and other assorted tasks. John

    RAW Rapid My old RAWs

Sorry….I bought the one second from the top, and gifted it to my son. It’s one of the finest shooting rifles I’ve ever shot. Unfortunately for me, my son shoots it very well, and schools his Dad frequently. Thanks for passing it on. John

Where Have All the Rats Gone?

I’ve shot 5 in the past month….they just love my wife’s tomatoes…shoot them at night with an air pistol at about 12”… they usually fly off the trellis and into the dogs mouth. Quite the sound of the dogs jaws clacking together crunching the rat. John

I’ve seen similar…I’ve even seen some that were kept in a bucket of water…believe it or not, they weren’t as rusty as one might expect. I’m old now, so my axe passion has waned a bit, however my heart beats a little faster when I see a nice one, or someone else that shares the passion. John

    N/A Gimme a Brake

Very nice!!…I think a grip cap always looks great…and I prefer the clean look of no white line spacers. Thanks for sharing…I really enjoy seeing how others do it. John PS I’ve always called my spinner a hurdygurdy…because that’s what the guy who gave it to me called it.

    Strictly off hand…

The real key to shooting well offhand, is to do it a lot. Nobody is a great offhand shooter at first. Get some guidance on form, technique, and practice. Did I mention practice?..When I shot competitively, daily practice, and some days more. It’s definitely a perishable skill..best of luck in...

    Grouping on blank paper

The short answer my coach would tell me is….vertical = breathing…lateral = trigger pull. Not gospel, but things to keep in mind. Good luck! John

What springer did you shoot today?

Bummer….same thing happened to me with an LP100. Guess we’re getting a little slower in our old age. Best of luck in the future. John

What springer did you shoot today?

Good for you! Never owned a 300, but have shot a few…VERY nice rifles! If I didn’t have a 75 and a 65, I’d own one. I’d be curious to see how it performs on your range….with the extended yardage. Pictures? John
