Sounds like ground squirrels to me, they can devastate crops. Seedlings and fruit are especially tasty to the pups and litters are large!

If noise is a concern, The double shot has no moderator. A friend had a Sumatra in .22, without a moderator it sounded as loud as a .22 magnum.

Just make sure there's air in you tank! I went out after a squirrel, took a dry fire shot and heard a tank. On inspection the gun had leaked out all it's air. It damaged the valve seat and I'm still working on getting it to hold air....
