is it a worthy gun to get as an upgrade to my benjamin fortitude? Looking for a more powerful and accurate gun for cheap , do you think its a good choice?

I’ve got my .22 Kral PB shooting at more than twice the power of my .22 FX Streamline for half the cost – The FX is capable of shooting 3 to 4 light weight pellets accurately, the Kral shoots many pellets and slugs accurately, including some MOA groups with or without wind.

Oh those are going out at 940fps at about 155bar through a 22.5” barrel if that helps your math for reference.

Sick man thanks for taking the time for the video.   Always wanted one.  Initially at least, this was supposedly a slug only gun – have you put in much time with slugs?   I’ve tried them all through other guns and Griffins have really shined for me.   He’s making some pellet back 30gr hollow points that I really like and are priced reasonably, I can send a dozen or so if you’re interested, and some scope stickers on the house.
    thanks again for video.

I think harmonic tuning for FINE tuning is an art form as much a science and especially with longer barrels shooting lower velocities this becomes more critical.  I did some short experiments with different methods but in general I find that whatever you can do to dampen the overall sin curve vibration or close the extreme gap of high and low nodes, is helpful.  I’ve been meaning to do more testing but I am liking the initial results of using heat shrink wrap on my barrel and barrel shroud.  I build fishing rods and have used cork tape as well, wrapping the whole barrel with cork tape then shrink tuning it for serious dampening.

Love it Joe!   I’m going back to SFP after making scope stickers for yardage.  Also, I used to buy a bunch of UTG scopes in my springer days, still have the springers but got rid of the UTG’s except for one, the 10X glass etched….was always why to admit but the thing is just plain nice to hunt with and it just works great!   No muss no fuss, plenty of light, no blurring on the edges, cheap, what more can you ask for?

I use my archery targets for my airguns (Walmart ones) and I’m pretty sure my Kral goes right through it (60FPE+).  Hmmm now I want to check, definitely pellets maybe not slugs

Dont want to hijack this thread but to show the point of what's possible with a Kral – it has more power than most .25's and is damn accurate.  .22 would inherently have a better BC and penetration power than a .25 at 60+FPE.  Only deer I've taken that undoubtedly did not suffer for a second.

    PM me comments or questions.

Troy is a great dude, I had the same experience everyone else had, there should be a disclaimer on his web site saying "you'll get it when ya get it, but it'll kick-ass when ya get it!"   I've since cranked my gun up a bit more but it's never broke down on me and the thing is a frigging hunting machine!!!  Try Griffin slugs.  What is your build aiming for – power, shots, somewhere in between?

This is my 65FPE .22cal beast.  If you're looking for power don't let Troy tell you can't tune this high it's unsafe, I did it and it's fine – Shoot Fast & Take Chances 😂

Gotcha.  I like the look of the mega but ended up hpping up a Marauder instead, then got a Streamline, man-o-man the aluminum tube vs steel tube is a huge difference in handling!    How's the trigger?  Is that the "new drop sear 2-stage trigger" as Troy calls it?  I'm over the moon with my Puncher Breaker, shooting (2) mags of 30gr slugs at 930fps very accurately and very long and shooting JSB monsters at 65FPE but the trigger is the week point for sure, not week so to speak but handicapping for sure.

Old thread I know, but question. Does the adjustment hole for the AMP reg cause a problem when installing the Huma with the 300cc plenum ???? How about using the 300cc plenum with the AMP reg ????😁

pretty sure you mean 30cc plenum but not sure what you mean by the rest.  I just installed a 30cc Huma power plenum in my Streamline, then last night installed the Huma HP reg to replace the FX reg.  Trying to find the time for testing, tuning and reporting but PM me if you have a specific question or test you'd like me to attempt to rectify.

Very interesting!!  Cant wait for the new Kral guns to come out, I like the Puncher Space on their site, thought it was supposed to come out last year though.  Are the bottle guns Aluminum bottle or Steel??

Hey Jim, I've become a huge click fan as well!  It seems to make the FFP scopes obsolete too (wish I knew this before buying a bunch..).  PM me your address and I'll send you some scope stickers for your discovery, we have very similar set ups!

Love it Jim!  did you put the Knight barrel on your PB?  I have the Knight barrel on mine and along with some other mods, it got my velocity way up!

I couldn't stand the temptation so ordered one and a few slugs from my favorite dealer in Florida. FX USA, have ya'll tried enough NSA's to recommend a couple for the Standard Superdooper?

    Jking

Hey Jimmy, try the Griffin slugs!   A little more money but with what you have into your rig(s) it is WELL WORTH IT!   They are quite a ways ahead of NSA and offer many different sizes, shapes, weights, cavity types, different bases, etc.   and they have done extensive testing with FX platforms.  Better BC than Neilson, much better consistency too and they expand incredibly.   I was shooting their 30gr .22 yesterday and hit a rabbit at 76yds and my son was with me, first he’s heard of these when they hit – he said “Dad what the heck was that, it sounded like you hit a balloon?!”

I will only buy expired tanks.  $60 for a tank that "expired" last year because  it is in the USA but is not expired if it were in a different country is worth the savings for me.  Of course, like anything, you don't know the tanks life history but I would suspect a firefighters tank was always filled with dry air and tested regularly to be put on their backs.  These tanks are designed to withstand upwards of 20,000psi before they rupture.  I fill them with my chinese compressor run through a charcoal and desicant filter and fill to about 4200psi.

I don't think there is any true danger (explicitly) in buying a 10 year old tank compared to a 20 year old tank but inspecting for chips or dents is advised.  Taking my advise does not inherently make you safer, but thinking your 15 year old car can keep you safe on the road only up until December 31st and then you must carefully deliver it to the junk yard, uses the same logic and provides you an equal measure of safety in my opinion.

did you have any luck with these?

I love the Griffin slugs.  have tried every base, different diameters and the 2 strokes are incredible but cup base and deep hollow #2 are great too.  they expand awesome.  My 60+FPE kral .22 barrel loves them.  I know my PB barrel was 1:16 twist but I changed that out for the longer Knight barrel and haven't measured it's twist but it's sending 27gr .217 2 stroke slugs out at about 960+ and they stack at 86yds!!  and when you connect with a squirrel….oh my goodness, the pop is deafening!

I've also tried NSA (maybe the worst of the group for me, in marauder and kral, good in hatsan unchoked, terrible in FX like every projectile other than jsb…) Varmint knockers (old ones were great then they changed mold), AVS (ehh), some others on ebay, nothing compares to Griffin for me.
