    Tuning HW90 barrel droop

That looks pretty good. Can't get any better than that. True, too much droop makes guns look like they're hunchbacked. By the way, Is that a BSA GRT Lightning?

    Tuning HW90 barrel droop

Good question. Sideways bend is different because the barrel is positively located between the yokes, which are machined parallel to the cylinder OD. Therefore I believe that sideways bend will usually be caused by a bent barrel. However, it's not a bad idea to check for sideways bend. I had...

    Tuning HW90 barrel droop

Very interesting info. Clearly, Beeman was not able to order non-droop guns from Weihrauch if they had to hand pick them from their own inventory. It's also interesting that Beeman regarded barrel bending as a legitimate remedy. I wonder just how they did that. As you say, we still don't know...

    Tuning HW90 barrel droop

Hi, I tried that. I also tried forcefully cycling the barrel latch several times. But the mechanical tolerances are very tight. Like a bank vault door.

    Tuning HW90 barrel droop

Wow, that's about 3 inches. Maybe he let go of the barrel before before latching it. The barrel snaps up and can bend. The HW30 barrel is lighter than the rest of their break barrels.

    Tuning HW90 barrel droop

I don't think cocking causes barrel bending. Weihrauch barrels are stout. I straightened an old one using a small 1 ton arbor press. I had to put my full body weight on the lever to get it to bend even a little. My two new HW90's came with about half a degree of droop. But my HW30 and 95 were...

    Tuning HW90 barrel droop

Hi, I know what you mean about balancing the straight edge. That's why I finally got that Wixey electronic level. It's got a magnet which just snaps on the barrel and cylinder. I was looking at Hateful McNasty's post above. He used a pair of levels. Good idea! So I tried an old line level...

    Yes, that looks pretty good.

    Tuning HW90 barrel droop

Hi Crowski. Are you resting that straight edge on the cylinder, or on the barrel block?

    Tuning HW90 barrel droop

That's great accuracy. I get similar results with a red dot. Red dots can be very good for hunting accuracy within 50 yards. The other thing is they're almost indestructible, and HW90 level recoil doesn't affect them. I'm glad to hear your HW90 is droop free. Hopefully Weihrauch is paying more...

    Tuning HW90 barrel droop

I love red dots. The only problem is I have slight astigmatism and get a star pattern when my eyes are tired. Squinting helps.

    Tuning HW90 barrel droop

You don't necessarily need a corrective scope mount. My HW30 and 95 were perfectly aligned from the factory. If your gun has droop, it's a matter of how much droop. Most scopes will compensate for small amounts of droop. If you have a half degree, like my HW90, you can use a scope with enough...

    About time with the HW90

Good question. I'm afraid I kinda hijacked the thread already. Check out my post on that very subject. https://www.airgunnation.com/threads/hw90-barrel-droop.1255429/ Yes, some of the Weihrauchs do have barrel droop. I don't have a full understanding of which models or years have it. I have a...

Nice! I considered buying a custom stock, but the standard one just looks so good!

    About time with the HW90

That's an interesting question. I haven't gone over 26 bar. Weihrauch says 26 is max. The Beeman RX tech manual says to not exceed 24 bar. Engineering designs always have a margin of safety built in, often 10%. so it may be safe to go to 28 or 29 bar. But even if it's safe, you will get...
