How do you explain to others why you shoot air rifles

Biggest practical advantage may be the opportunities that air rifles give you for follow-up shots on nearby animals. They're not as likely to permanently spook a flock of birds. Also, I remember Ted was called in to do some pesting on a farm where the farmer was putting his animals off their...

Where Do I Post Scammer Info?

He's probably saying he got a PM that looks like a scam, but thinks to highly of "real" bona-fide members to think of a scammer as an "actual" member of AGN : ) Just a guess!

    Did I dream it?

I don't think so. It was a tiebreaker question for that giveaway, so I'd assume it at least wasn't common knowledge then. If it is known now, I don't know about it. I have heard that they don't have the 3rd variant of the 1923 because most of them broke due to a weak cast receiver, but idk if...

    Did I dream it?

It seems to, as mentioned in this thread: http://airgunnation.dev/topic/crosman-25-air-rifle-contest-ends-august-31-2015/ But I don't know what it is.

Anyone know of any areas to hunt near San Jose ca.?

As far as target shooting, the Sunnyvale Rod and Gun Club (sunnyvalegunclub.com) is an awesome place with good people. It's 20min from your place, up Foothill Expy (Stevens Creek from 85). They have five trap houses and a bunch of centerfire/handgun stations, then off to the side, kind of in...

    Hog hunting safety

Thanks everybody! If I get a permission that doesn't mind, using trees, a sidearm, and good shot placement sounds like a good way to go. Even just being aware of trees to escape into would help.

    Hog hunting safety

How do you people handle the obvious safety concerns associated with hog hunting? i.e. do you have a plan for what to do if the hog attacks you? Do you have an idea how often that kind of thing happens? If it helps, I'd be hunting in CA. Thanks! jayman

    Blackbirds

ether, Try starting a thread on the "General Airgunning" part of the forum if you're new and want general advice, otherwise I'd say try the "Springers, Pumpers, CO2 & Others" forum. Sounds pretty general to me, but note that most people on here focus on pellet guns not BB guns. Still, you'll...

    Cleaning paint off a lens

SO--finally got around to cleaning the scope. Probably 10-15 specks of paint dried on of various sizes, plus dirt and dust and something dried on that I couldn't really see. I spread oil with a q-tip, let it soak, then ran my fingernail over the scope until it felt smooth. I say "ran" because...

    Cleaning paint off a lens

Called Hawke, and they said acetone would be fine because it dries off so quickly and works with my scope (Hawke Sport HD). From what I can find online it looks like acetone is risky business depending what kind of scope/coating/rings you have, but that it's workable for a lot of scopes...
