    CS4i? Is there an issue?

This has happened to me three times - twice within the first two days of ownership and once a few days ago. In each instance, unplugging the compressor, waiting about 10 minutes and plugging it back in did the trick. Sometimes I question the wisdom of using the plug as an on/off switch...

    Recommendations on small tanks

I have two 9 liter tanks and one of the 3 Liter Tuxing tanks show in post No. 6. They each have their uses. If I were to have only one tank, I'd choose a 6.8 liter - no too heavy and sufficient air storage. Yes. a 6.8 liter tank can be filled with a CS4-i. I suggest filling in stages with...

    Randolph front rest

I'm sorry to hear that Randolph's QC is in the tank. My Randolph front is at least 9 years old and it's always been smooth and steady. JackHughs

Air Venturi Avenger Buck Rail Tac Kit 2.0

I've checked the Archives and YouTube. There are many posts regarding the original Buck Rail Tac Kit for the original Avenger but so far no information on the Tac Kit 2.0 version. Has anyone here installed version 2.0? If so, how does it perform? JackHughs

    Compressor Safety

Plus 1 on the ear protection. I use the same procedure and the fast bleed is painful without "ears." JackHughs

Issues with brand new GX CS4 compressor

Yes. I only fill tanks - no one way valves. I monitor tank pressure, turn off the tank valve, and then open the bleed screw on the compressor. I don't use auto shut-off because I don't want the compressor to stop under load. JackHughs

Issues with brand new GX CS4 compressor

This may help. Always turn your compressor on with the the bleed valve open. And, always turn the compressor off by first opening the bleed valve. Then allow the compressor to run for 30 seconds or so under no load before turning it off. In my opinion, this procedure helps to "blow out"...

    HPA Compressor Crossroads…?🙈

Replacing the internal power supply and/or the circuit board on a CS4-i is not particularly difficult. My friend had to replace both on his new CS4-i and I didn't hear any serious complaints. The CS4-i compressor is water cooled but the internal parts such as the power supply and the circuit...

    HPA Compressor Crossroads…?🙈

If you should decide on a GX CS4-i, I suggest that you first consider the CS4. The CS4 has an external power supply which will not be subject to the heat and vibration imposed on an in-the-case power supply. If the power supply should fail, you don't have to open the case to replace it. And...

    FX Don't Quite Understand?

There is only one hammer spring adjuster. Each click on the Micro wheel moves the adjuster a fixed distance. Each click on the Macro wheel moves the adjuster a distance equal to 5 clicks on the Micro wheel. The Macro is a coarse adjustment. The Micro is a fine adjustment. The regulator...

    GX CS4-I question(s)

A friend had a similar problem with a new CS4-i. The culprits were a faulty power supply and circuit board. Try running your compressor on DC. That is how my friend identified the problem with the power supply. JackHughs

Question on filling small SCBA tank

I tied that. I still had to carry the 9 liter tank back and forth from my truck. And, I had to load and unload the golf bag cart from the truck and attach and detach the tank. All-in-all, it was more work and effort to use the cart than it was to just carry the tank. JackHughs

Question on filling small SCBA tank

I have a CS4-i compressor that I use to "top off" 9 liter tanks. I recently purchased a Tuxing 3 liter tank and used to the CS4-i to fill the tank from empty to 4500 psi in three steps allowing the compressor to cool down between steps. For all practical purposes, this was no harder on the...

GX-CS4-I: Buy from Amazon vs. GX?

I bought mt CS4-i direct from GX. Good fortune smiled and it's operated perfectly from the start. A friend bought a CS4-i direct from GX and it was DOA. GX pronptly sent a replacement power supply and circuit board but my friend had to disassemble the compressor and install the parts. My...
