Rford71, thanks for posting that chart. So it appears all barrels have the same twist rates or very close. 1:16 or there abouts . Pretty fast twist IMO but as long as they shoot well. Ed must have gave his own specs to the manufacturers as LW is typically 1:17.7 and by the looks of it so is...
That’s a beauty and a good shooter to boot. I keep reading about the HW100 having bad barrels in .22 and yet again this one shoot just fine. I’m a big fan of these rifles myself and would consider them built to the same standards as the upper end powder burners like Tikka . Congrats on the new...
Traxx, Alpha precision has there barrel twist rates posted on their website . I believe it converts to 1:17.7 just like the LW in .25 cal. That should be fine up to 50 grain , as long as they are sized and the speed is where it needs to be.
a couple days ago I tried logging in and I kept getting an error message saying my location did not match . I’ve sent the mods a few messages but have yet to hear back. Am I the only one ? I’ve opened a new account .
I’ve had to get a second account started here as my other username has mysteriously stopped working and can no longer log in due to some address issue. Hope the OP gets this sorted out, not to mention hopefully FX will get the actions on the M3’s sorted shortly. I can see this sort of thing...
Thanks Scouty. Looks like I’ll be sticking to the Vector I've got mounted now. 2.75” eye relief is about the min I’d go . This one just falls outside of that range.
Finally got some trigger time with the .25 . Using the 3x Vector Calypos prism sight from 15 to 45 yards it was near impossible to miss the 1” targets . 4 shot groups with the 25.4 grain JSB average 3/4” at 900 FPS and the MKII heavies slightly better at 5/8” at 780 FPS . Shot count with a 350cc...
Scouty, whats you thought on the Vortex? Can you still see clearly at short range , let’s say 10 yards or less? I really like the design , weight and reticle . Not to mention the 5X magnification.
