You really can't, the 177 you shoot targets in the backyard with is unethical for a Woodchuck at longer distances. I think if I had to the FX platform with a 22 slug barrel, normal length pellet, and super short pellet barrel with the ability to adjust from 10-70 FPE would do it for me. The aggravation of resighting, plus the cost makes the ownership of a variety of guns a better choice in my case.

I've collected every old style Penn reel, the NIB 16/0 Senators were way under a hundred when the Internationals were first introduced. They turned into a nice investment commanding around a grand NIB now.

Check out Amazing Polly on YouTube Not So Trusted Voices   3/31/20    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hdBt-kalsOs  She is a Canadian college Professor and routinely dissects the MSM narratives. From weather, gun show footage, to mock gunfire landings these talking heads have a history of an over abundance of bovine fecal matter. At an alleged 8 billion people world wide, and confirmed deaths of 40 thousand in a 4 months does this constitute a world wide pandemic? How many die of starvation? prescriptions? medical screwups? seasonal flu? the numbers of this pandemic seem to pale in comparison to deaths that we annually experience, and routinely accept. I feel for your concern with your mother, and perhaps a more stable enviorment would be in order.

I'm in the belly of the cv-19 beast, yet I'll be fecal dipped as I have yet to know anyone personally that has contracted the virus. I sit in the corner of CHUCK and Texas as I believe at the very least the information provided by the media seems to be enhanced or pumped up, sort of like the breasts on the former Olympian known as Bruce. As a kid I along with all the children in my neighborhood caught and spread every childhood disease. In the 80's the vaccine community was granted immunity from prosecution for deaths, and complications arriving from vaccine mishaps. Vaxxed is available on Bitcute, and should be required viewing by all.

I use the gun as you describe and put a bugbuster on mine. At 10 ounces and shorter than the hinge it makes a lightweight pkg. The Discovery is almost double the weight with it's 30 mm tube. The gun does take some getting used too and added weight might benefit you. Some have spoke of amazing long distance shots, for myself-barrel-skill level it's a nice sub 50 yard gun. If you are smaller you might need offset rings for proper eye relief.

Older individuals with compromised immune systems appear to be the victims of this virus. I think we'll see a massive eradication-containment, the feces hit the fan on 3-11. Give it a month we will probably hear favorable news by 4-10-20.

It looks like there is going to be many options, both shrouds with the full compliment of barrels just convinced me to keep my set up.

Shipping costs is a definite factor especially with lower priced guns. With sales and free shipping offered say with Benji products by the time you price your gun and absorb the shipping there is not much left. With some guns while paying a tuner and then the shipping both ways this adds about a 250.00 cost. When added to a high end gun it's a small percentage. Put those same numbers on a lower priced PCP it's money you'll likely never recoup. With shipping they are all somewhat comparable, UPS at some of their distributors like Staples will offer a discount that's available on their receipts. Additional insurance is available at 2.50 per hundred dollars of stated value. When shipping a Shoebox cross country this was about 20.00 cheaper then USPS. Damage and handling is something to consider, I like to wrap the factory box if I have one with luan 1/8" plywood.  it is light and adds much protection over the standard cardboard box. If the factory box is not available I'll break down the gun and use blue foam 2" sheets cut to size, then wrap with thin plywood. So far I've had good luck with this. I've purchased items from others that was a package deal, and rec'd in 3 separate packages that were professionally packed. In this case buying used presented unseen problems and NO savings over the same items if I got them new from a reputable vendor. Those YouTube vids are your friend, and hex keys and O rings are cheap.

Most of your 30's could be compared to a sub sonic 22 powder burner. Your shooting a 44 gr. pellet at 70 -80 fpe of energy, the 22 shoots a 40 gr. at sub 100 fpe. The pellet cost, air consumption, noise, and pass thru problems are all thoughts that need to be considered. When toned down in power you'll experience a more loopy trajectory, this makes your ranging more critical verging on exact. Where as a 22 with an 18 gr pellet, and a 25 with a 34 gr. pellet will shoot very similar to each other at ranges to 70 yards. With triple and double the amount of pellets, along with reduced air it's worth considering. The thought of blasting a Squirell off the soffit of a home only to have a pass thru do additional damage. 44 grains flying in a populated area is another thought. tflatts did a great job educating the forum members on reduced fpe requirements. The slugs now becoming much more common is another option for added power, and increased ballistic capabilities.

$3000 for the gun and possibly another three digits to buy the app, what’s not to like?        Then add the cost of those  magazines

plus one trigger mod, get a 177 350 mm barrel, do some experimenting mine was shooting the 18 grain 22's at low 800's. Just swapped out the barrel it was very accurate and flat shooting with both the 10 and 13 grain jsb's

Try finding an older Disco with the wooden stock. Another option is the Marauder pistol. That stock is very easy to cut down and a custom cheek piece is easily made with a length of dowel and a couple of machine screws. Another plus with the pistol is the size and weight will probably work out better.

Go with the Leshiy, as folded is less that 16", both the 22 and the 25 can launch the 33.95 that JSB offers. Tflatts has an excellent series dispatching back yard nuisance critters. Lower energy and pellet selection eliminate pass thru's.
