A probe O-ring can usually be done on the rifle, using the string trick. I use smaller waxed nylon thread from some of my leather craft projects. You will need a 2nd set of hands to manipulate the side lever if you leave it assembled.

So before starting the tear down, I did the tissue test to confirm the air leak. Sure enough, it blew the tissue 2 ft up off the breech. The process was fairly simple, removed the action from the stock. then pulled the barrel band. I did not de-gas the gun for this procedure. Carefully removed...

The milled flat extends into the area of the TP. My theory is the O-ring failed, then the remnants just followed the path of least resistance when the gun was fired. I will confirm once I take it all apart.

My plan is to fix it myself; it will be easier than boxing it up and shipping back to AOA. I have 7 other PCPs that I have had to make various repairs or modification too, so pretty comfortable tearing into this one.

Rifle was never fired by me with the breach open. Barrel set screws on top are snug, have not disassembled the lower block to see if the bottom 2 set screws are tight. The gun is as delivered from AOA. From my initial chronograph testing, it has always been under powered and super loud.

Probably botched the photo thing, but that's new to me. Got to believe this is the issue, never had a problem inserting the magazine, so never noticed it till now.

Update.... So, I removed the magazine and attempted to install the factory single shot adapter for the tissue test. For some reason it would not snap into place, so I break out a small flashlight and have a close look. Low and behold, there is a small loop of O-ring protruding from under the...

Thanks for the responses guys. To be honest, I have not fired it without the magazine in place or done the tissue test. That could account for the low power level as well. Will give the tissue a try this afternoon.

I have an unregulated .177 Revere that is easily the loudest air gun I own. Even with a moderator it is still not hearing safe. Has anyone else ever experienced this? the power level is also lower than it should be, only making 15 ft lbs with a 13.4 pellet. Any ideas ?

17dean, welcome sir. You won't find a more informative place, or a bigger bunch of enablers, to advance your new hobby. I am in Pearl River county MS, outside of Picayune, so not terribly far from you. Pretty far down the rabbit hole myself, started with an Avenger in .25, then an Air Arms S510...

New 6.8l CF tank fill whip seal?

Yes, it needs a Delrin seal inside the female thread, or looks like it would seal up with a Dowty washer over the male side.
