Airforce AIRFORCE Texan tired of tank loosening!!!

I used a chucking reamer to seat my 250gn dish base Griffin Airgun Slugs into the barrel 1/8". See my previous pics (not in order) where slug sticks out and then the middle pic where it's in 1/8". With the tank secured to the stock and less air outside the barrel behind the slug my shots have...

Airforce AIRFORCE Texan tired of tank loosening!!!

I don't compromise accuracy and setup while hunting so the bottle is never removed and replaced with a backup until maintenance. I have a great white for the range and I don't swap out bottles especially hunting. I utilized a hydration pack , removed the flask and carry this paintball tank...

Airforce AIRFORCE Texan tired of tank loosening!!!

Yeah, I tried everything except putting multiple set screws. I could have had someone drill and tap those( I didn't want to try it myself) but for a few dollars more I had Doug Russell who is a great guy , make me a stock to help support the whole wobbly gun (which I absolutely love) from flex...

Airforce AIRFORCE Texan tired of tank loosening!!!

Yeah, it's the lock nuts like on an AR that holds the tank and valve into position in the frame near barrel where the slug is loaded. There is a set screw that is supposed to hold the lock nut but like everything that is used a lot, wears out. Your correct that the bottle and valve can't be...

Airforce AIRFORCE Texan tired of tank loosening!!!

Here's what I did to eliminate tank movement and really gives me stability and accuracy. Simply using the tank band that came with the aluminum bottle. I'm getting 5 good shots with .58L bottle

Tuning airforce texan 50 cal hammer spring help

I also purchased a 457.3 chucking reamer and very very carefully cut my barrel chamber in 1/2" deeper so the slug seats all the way into the barrel (1/8" inside). I softly hit the lands with a Dremel stone twisting by hand. The slugs were laying two thirds out in the loading tray. Now I seat...

Tuning airforce texan 50 cal hammer spring help

Yes, I use the TX2 valve, hammer and springthat was issued with the texan. I purchased a 4500psi CF bottle but only fill to 3500psi. I turn my adjustment almost all the way to the right (towards valve, trigger). I shoot 250gn Griffin Slugs with a Maddog stock. I do not get valve lock at all, I...

Under the Dovetail Rail Ammo Box for Airforce Texan

Yeah I did contact Chad of Lethal last week but haven't heard back. I will probably just take a chance and purchase. Seems that not too many have one. No big deal, just trying to justify the purchase. Thank you guys for chiming in.

Airforce Airforce texan ammo box interior dimensions for slugs end to end.

Yes, that foam looks pretty cool. I saw it says 2 slugs and it looks like the slugs are the biggest for picture and function. Those look about 450 gn pretty long slugs. The ones I'm using in my 45 cal carbine are 250gn @ 3/4" long each. If I had an exact measurement I would decide if I wanted...

Airforce Airforce texan ammo box interior dimensions for slugs end to end.

Hey don't know if this has been discussed. I would like someone if they could measure the internal dimensions of the Airforce Texan ammo box end to end . I need 3" total for 4 - 250gn slugs to fit. Can someone measure the inside of theirs and thanks.

Under the Dovetail Rail Ammo Box for Airforce Texan

I know this is an old thread but can you tell me how much or how long the storage area that holds the actual ammo inside the ammo box and if there is a separator, so then how much area is on both sides of the separator inside the ammo storage box if so. I am shooting lightweight 250gn .457...

Texan SS .308: Finally the gun I always wanted!

Hello again davidsng, I recently did some more modifications on my AF Texan Carbine .457 cal. I reverted back to a smaller tank from the 1.1 liter to a .58 liter and put a Mad Dog stock on it. I also used the bottle band (butt pad band) to help secure the bottle to the stock. All this eliminated...

AEA HP SS Plus+ at the range, it’s a riot!

Hey MWS, did you ever get a 10" barrel for your Aea Hp SS 30cal? I have a great shooting SS Plus 10" barrel 30 cal. and am looking for an 8" for a better maneuvoring inside gun. I put a 29ci airforce cf tank (more volume) which is shorter than factory tube so I'm halfway there. Trying to do it...

Texan SS .308: Finally the gun I always wanted!

Holy man! 2 liter you will need 3" high rings to get your eye down hahaha. That would be cool. 1 liter did make my gun a bit heavier but I guess that's why we need to stay in shape. Hey ... these air guns are fun as much as needed. My plan may be the moav kit, maybe. Looking forward to seeing...

Texan SS .308: Finally the gun I always wanted!

Davidsng, I know this is an old thread but I like your settup. I am currently working on my accuracy which was better before I dug into customizing. I know I'll find the sweet spot. I'm tuning AF 457 Texan carbine modded a bit, custom foreend, TT drop down, a 1.liter CF bottle and TX2 valve...
