Maybe the speed sensitivity has something to do with getting the skirt to open up? I just got a new 800mm tensioned slug barrel and was surprised these are not a tighter fit when slugging the barrel. FX barrel is the red one, the other is a .25 LW Polygonal no choke.

Just got an HP Carbine in .25 and was planning to follow Sicumj's lead on polishing the barrel crown. Once I got a close look at it I'm thinking it needs a lot more than just polish. Would anyone recommend cutting it back to get a clean break on the rifling?
