That's an engineering oversight I can conclude. The basic principles of die making were not followed, Usually the dies are made in one piece, from a single piece of tool steel. The way you have pry opened the die crown shows it.

There is a tumbling process which is followed, Zan used walnut and cork media initially, NSA uses ultrasonic agitator, So that why they look as the image youv've posted.

It is a Bleed hole anomaly, ideally its sized to the die diameter but if it overlaps the ogive then its an engineering oversight.

We do make the tooling for most of the presses out there and reply within 2 hours tops at GMI.

Excellent project. My suggestion is not to compromise on the manufacturing of these pieces of equipment; use the best hardware available. Treat as if it were a metrology equipment.

To be frank, if you wish to make your own pellets, The budget to make standalone tools is approximately $2000. If we manage it to around $1500, still it will be beyond the reach of many air gunners. Thus that makes GMI SOC kit as the most accessible and affordable option, but its for slugs.
