Yet another "what scope should I get?" thread - $400-1000 range

I have a new .25 impact and i'm tying myself in knots trying to decide what glass to put on it. I've read most of the threads on here for the past several months and that may have made it worse. I've heard a lot here recently (thanks for your reports!) of the FFP sidewinder. On that note...

Laminate stock defects on new Wildcat

Update - the manager of the AoA sales team gave me a personal call and apologized that they dropped the ball. That's good enough for me. Mistakes happen and this one slipped through the cracks. He made good and sent a new stock which I received yesterday. Thank you all for the input and feedback...

Laminate stock defects on new Wildcat

Thank you for the reply, AoA. I'll fwd you the email string we had going again. I have also called several times over the last few months and gotten nowhere. Somehow, however, when I post about it here, it gets action quickly. I wish I didn't have to.

Laminate stock defects on new Wildcat

Anyone remember this? I do. Airguns of Arizona doesn't. It was apparently their strategy to tell me they were eventually going to send me a new stock once they got some in a month or two. Ok, fine. I get that. It has now been 8 months and I honestly don't think they ever have even had the...

    New Taipan Mutant std!!

I would love to be able to read about this rifle somewhere without the input of those with an agenda on either side of the aisle pushing it. Every person that I've been able to find that owns one (with the notable exception of the few here) loves it. Accuracy and consistency seems amazing. The...

Matching Pellet Skirt Thickness to Barrel: Splitting Cards with the Wolverine

Awesome, Matt. I have a Wolverine as well - I'll have to see if I can track some of those down! Not bad for an "unregulated" rifle, right? Great shooting.

Laminate stock defects on new Wildcat

Good news - I've been in contact with AOA this morning and they have agreed to replace the stock. Furthermore, I can continue to use and shoot the one I have until the new stock is sent to me, at which point I'll send this one back. Thank you, AOA. Well done.

Laminate stock defects on new Wildcat

Ozone, I may be blind but I'm not seeing the marks on your stock. The marks on my stock jump out as they are white/light color. It was literally the first thing I saw when I opened the box - the really jump out. They appear to be scratches but aren't. I have several laminate stock guns and...

Laminate stock defects on new Wildcat

It should be noted that these marks are not nicks in the wood - you can't feel them with your fingers. They are imperfections in the wood itself and spots where the dye in the laminate didn't quite take somehow. There are more of these marks on other parts of the stock as well.

Laminate stock defects on new Wildcat

I should also add that the gray laminate stock of my $400 weihrauch looks much cleaner and better done than this one - who knows, maybe they are made by the same company and this one was just a dud. I've seen quite a few pictures of the laminate wildcats and haven't seen these issues on any others.

Laminate stock defects on new Wildcat

Hi gentlemen - I just got my first FX airgun and first bullpup in the mail - a laminate .22 Wildcat. Can't wait to put it through it's paces! I want to get your opinion on the stock, however. The first thing I noticed when I opened the box was that the laminate stock (a $300 up charge) had some...

    .22 Wildcat - which moderator?

Hi gents. Looking to pick up a bullpup here shortly and i've got a deposit on a wildcat. I need it to be as quiet as possible (lousy eurasian doves in suburbia). AoA mentioned that they have the FX mod or the Huggett. I haven't tried either. Anybody out there who has experience with these? How...

Are there any of the "good" walnut stocked Vulcans out there anymore?

I've narrowed down my list and there's a good chance I'll go with a .25 Vulcan. Like some of you, I've noticed that there is a huge discrepancy in how these things look. I'd love a really nice wood stock on it, but if it's going to be the plain as dirt stock that many seem to come with now, I...

Vulcan vs Wildcat - I can't make up my mind!

I've narrowed my search for my first bullpup down to these two. I've gone back and forth several times. I've never owned a gun from either company. I'll likely be buying the rifle in .25. Cost is not a factor in this decision - I simply want to get the gun that will leave me the happiest over...
