What Paper Target Did You Shoot Today

One of the things I love is I don't have to deal with fly guts. I also love not having to bait paper flies!

What Paper Target Did You Shoot Today

I was out shooting paper flies this morning at 50-feet with the Avenge-X in .177.

Trigger Pull. Tempest in a tea cup?

My shooting these days is targets. Not hiking, no gloves, etc. The potential energy stored in the pull of the trigger gets released when the shot breaks. The relative effect of that energy depends on the weight of the rifle, angle of pull, etc. So does it matter to me? Yes.

    N/A 1k budget. First PCP

Look at the mid-tier rigs like Avenge-X, Gauntlet, etc. and see which tick the boxes for you. Add a compressor and optic and you will be at, or just over you price point.

    PCP then springer?

My TX200 really fits for me in a lot of ways.

Another of those... please help me decide on a air rifle.

I suspect that there is some personal struggle on desires. If it were me, and I was mostly shooting 50-yards and in, a quality springer would be my call. If I am going to go 50-yards to 100-yards mostly then .22 or larger PCP.

    N/A How accurate is a TX200.

After thought. At 100-yards my TX200 shoots about like this:

    N/A How accurate is a TX200.

I run 4.52 head AA 10.3 Field Heavy sorted to 1/10th grain. AA 8.4 run well but are more affected by the wind. I run FAC spring with 3mm spacer. The 10.3 run in the low 800's. I shoot mostly at 50-yards. It shots under 1" to .50" pretty consistently. I have some videos, here are a couple.

    Rookie Mistakes?

For me the biggest mistake when I started shooting was thinking "better" equipment was going to improve my shooting more than practice. Semi-decent gear then practice and ammo.
