I am following but don't have any ideas beyond what has been offered.

Look at the mid-tier rigs like Avenge-X, Gauntlet, etc. and see which tick the boxes for you. Add a compressor and optic and you will be at, or just over you price point.

My TX200 really fits for me in a lot of ways.

I suspect that there is some personal struggle on desires. If it were me, and I was mostly shooting 50-yards and in, a quality springer would be my call. If I am going to go 50-yards to 100-yards mostly then .22 or larger PCP.

After thought. At 100-yards my TX200 shoots about like this:

I run 4.52 head AA 10.3 Field Heavy sorted to 1/10th grain. AA 8.4 run well but are more affected by the wind. I run FAC spring with 3mm spacer. The 10.3 run in the low 800's. I shoot mostly at 50-yards. It shots under 1" to .50" pretty consistently. I have some videos, here are a couple.

For me the biggest mistake when I started shooting was thinking "better" equipment was going to improve my shooting more than practice. Semi-decent gear then practice and ammo.

I am in southwestern IN. Not legal in the city and the neighbors would mind. I am 20-30 minutes from the range.

I was out with my Avenge-X in .177 shooting 50 feet at the NRA A-17 Target. It has been tough to get out a lot this year so far, so I am a bit rusty!

The $6000+ rig is not trivial. I shoot mostly Lapua Center X, Long Range and Midas+ so I agree the ammo cost, even if you can find them, is not inconsequential either. However, with your accuracy request you will probably need to be shooting slugs. The cost savings, particularly as your find...
