    Your ultimate versatile set up?

My travel situation consist of moving from one location to another taking care of clients estates mainly coastal San Diego. I use a small cargo van to carry my supplies to clients and for the occational 2-3 state road trips in which my gun goes with me. I don't have my own place so storage...

My HW80 is on life support after bear trap injury

Is a cocking lever and shoe hard to replace without special tools? Looks like about $30 shipped from Knibbs. Also, about how much is it worth in parts? I have to have it shipped back for about $40 or donnate to the shop.

My HW80 is on life support after bear trap injury

Mycapt said the same thing about those parts. Can you do anything with the trigger and sights without the same hw80? In the shop so would have to pay for the vortek disasembly and shipping. Steve thought the spring could be damaged as well but haven't got to that point yet. can the sights...

My HW80 is on life support after bear trap injury

I would think about 400 ish. since they are offered new at 650. At this point would probably just keep my pcp in .22 and not replace right away. Maybe opt for a new Huben GK1 pistol, some kind of more compact set up or even a larger bore to round things out. The new stuff is getting quite good.

    Springs!

Been happy with the Brocock pcp and a hand pump for the little shooting I do. However, I still think about airguns way more than I should.... something many of you can identify with. My storage space is very limited so not sure if I should replace the 80 in my situation. I travel around...

    Springs!

Thanks guys, kind of what I figured but wanted to check. Yes it has sentimental value as the first and only legit pellet gun I owned as an adult untill buyig a brocock bantam .22 pcp about 4 years ago. Remember being so broke somewhere around 1987, all I had was a onion and a can of tomato's...

My HW80 is on life support after bear trap injury

I picked up my .177 hw80 in 1983 while traveling Europe in Amsterdam and brought it back to San Diego. About 7 years ago, I installed a Vortex piston/spring kit and in doing so, the saftey never worked again not realizing the saftey spring got lost. Anyway, this resulted in a bear trap which...

what age to start teaching to shoot

I am very grateful for my gun training by my uncle who started me with my own red ryder about 6. I had to learn all the safety protocalls you would use on a powerful gun like where it's pointed, back drops, keeping my finger off the trigger untill ready to shoot etc.

Btw, what makes the Wildcat a better platform over the powerpup?

    Your ultimate versatile set up?

Great info, thanks. The Bantam is dialed in, trouble free and shoots well, just a little low on power to be going more than 18gr jsb's.

That makes sense about the hassle of retuning and to have something ready to go. Does your Huben require much work?
