Scrap material rifle rest V2, pictures.

Just (almost) finished my odds & ends rifle rest V2. All that's left is to apply carpeting to where the butt stock rests, but the rifle is halfway to California, and I need to set it in the rest so the fit is right. Rest V1 IMO, was pretty ugly with all the extra holes from repositioning parts...

Anyone else guilty of tracking a package you've SENT?

It's due in Cali on Friday around noon.

Anyone else guilty of tracking a package you've SENT?

Uggg!!! UPS still shows the box in Illinois, their chat-bot said that packages are rarely scanned until they reach the destination hub. So, for the next couple of days, it will look like it hasn't moved at all, until it reaches the hub in California 🫩

Prototype OK, but ... already planning V2 (Rifle rest).

The rifle rest I JUST finished after 4 days of trial fitting & error, works OK, but there are some shortcomings. First off, the rear of the rest is too thick. I'm not able to correctly place my face against the cheek of the stock, so my alignment is way off when looking through the scope...

I wish, it was $35 for 4-day to California from Ohio.

I was today years old, when I realized... (scope zeroing).

Like I finally figured out. When I adjust the scope, I'm not moving the crosshairs to the POI, I'm moving the POI (in the field of view) to the crosshairs.

Since I have a single-shot pump, I wouldn't be able to shoot a group with it locked down. But still, I'd be able to fire one shot, adjust the crosshairs to THAT POI. Then fine tune it with the rifle on a full rest, just not locked down. On a magazine fed / PCP rifle, your idea would be ideal.

    Couldn't afford a plane-this time 😟 Maybe when I get the part-time job 🤔

I don't care for USPS very much.

I've been kind of obvious that my 392 is in it's way to Mac1. When I shipped it yesterday, I got the tracking number. I was able to wait until last night, then I started tracking ... watching it go from Akron to Cleveland, and now somewhere SW of Toledo. I have a feeling I'm going to be doing...

Maybe, maybe not. If I READ instructions, I have to reread them several times before it sinks in. If I SEE an actual demonstration (and remove my head from the dark recessed area), I pick it up really quick. In this case, even though I saw it done (once), my head was still tightly tucked...

    Today is "S" day!

Thanks for the well wishes. I'm not looking for full-time as I've just done a 32 year career. I'm just looking for a part-time because I'm bored as hell being retired, and while my pension covers all the bills-for the most part, It DOES NOT provide any "extra" to allow for my hobbies ... my...

    Today is "S" day!

"S" as in Steroid. UPS opens in just over an hour and a half, and I intend to be there first thing - for two reasons. First off, I applied for a part-time job, and they contacted me, wanting to set up an interview. I figured I would show my face before they schedule one to show that I'm...
