I got damage like that on mine when I added weight, never did figure out what it was but ordered another factory oem one, removed the weight and haven’t had a problem since. I’ll see if I can dig up the thread I posted it in. Not much help I know. Post #9...

I’m pretty sure any “water” doesn’t remain liquid under pressure. I don’t think turning it upside down and opening valve and not getting water out is an indicator of dry air. Might be wrong but I don’t think that’s how that works.

for me, when I have the gun on a bench bipod/rear rest. All I’m doing is measuring how the guns shoots. I have negligible effect imo, for me, on how the guns shoots in that scenario. Now when shooting offhand or even in the field with shooting sticks, this is where I compare how the guns shoots...

Dial the 18s down to 880 and see if poi stabilizes. Then you know equipment is fine and you just need to perfect tune and find a projectile that works at that tune.

That tune-in-a-tube stuff did make a measurable difference in the experience, it’s fine for plinking and a great loaner.

I think you’ve nailed it there, based on my experience, most products produced after COVID from autos to airguns are substandard to items produced pre-pandemic.
