[SOLD] [WTS] New Hawke 3-9X40AO : AMX SPF

SPF I bought this scope hoping that it would be better than the one that came with my HW30. Nope, the reticle is too fine for my old eyes. I only took it out if the box to look through it. It has not been mounted. $185 shipped in USA only. PayPal G&S or USPS money order. BUT WAIT...

    Break barrels, inaccurate by design??

RE: inaccurate break barrel rifles. Like many things these days, that is a large container of bovine excreta. My new, out of the box, HW30 easily shoots sub-dime size groups at 15 yards from a not so solid sand bag rest. I am 79 and have seen some really poor shooting over the years. Much, if...

OK who's not afraid to show your face?

This photo was taken in Sept. 2009. I don't remember which was me. I may be the one with the hat. To the best of my knowledge, this is the latest photo of me.

Bullying going on in the Classifieds section

How about just ignoring the bastid? On another forum, when I occasionally post some ammo for sale, I expect a certain lowballer to offer 50% of my asking price. I am rarely disappointed. I don't respond. I just ignore him. No problem.

    USPS issues

Per USPS regs, it is none of the clerks business what you are shipping. They can ask if it is hazardous, liquid, etc, but that is all. You can legally mail a long gun, but must have a FFL to mail a handgun legally.

    Shipping Airguns

Yes, sometimes USPS screws up badly. Usually it's because of some numbskull. I mailed a money order to a gun shop in Utah. It came back to me marked Undeliverable. Bad address. I checked google street view and there was a picture of the building with the huge name and number visible from the...

    Shipping Airguns

Shipping to and from a foreign country is a whole different thing. You have to be careful what you put on the customs form. You may get away with "sporting goods" or "steel parts" or you may not. I have had knives sent to me from Canada that were called camping tools. Two made it OK. One was...

    Shipping Airguns

It depends on how you are shipping it. If by USPS, do not tell them it is an airgun. As long as it is not hazardous or illegal, it is none of their business what is in the box. Anything that says GUN, should be covered up per USPS regs. I shipped an air rifle by UPS and printed the label at...

    How to buy a win.

That makes a lot of sense. The truth is that many people with lots of money to spend will buy things just for show and tell. I spent the last 20 years of my working life as a gunsmith. We specialized in tactical shotguns. You would not believe how many of our guns were returned to us for the...

    How to buy a win.

Thank you for your response, but it seems that you didn't read my post about her. As I wrote earlier, I don't know her. I had no idea who she is. The picture is a random photo that showed up while I was looking for something else. My comments are not about her, they were about the rifle. I am...

    How to buy a win.

Let's not get our bowels in an uproar. I was doing a little research on the Angeles Shooting Range and that picture popped up. I don't know her and I never heard of her. My post has nothing to do with her. I was just making an observation based on over 55 years of shooting. Let's be honest. A...

    How to buy a win.

In the early '90s I shot in matches at the range near Santa Barbara. All I had was a CMP M1. On a good day, it would shoot 2 to 2 1/2 in groups at 100 yards from the bench. It was not competitive with the highly tuned M1As, but I got free ammo. There was a couple who shot in the matches and did...

    How to buy a win.

I am not mocking her or anyone who wants the best equipment. I was just commenting on how a fairly simple game evolves into something else. Silly-wet {silhouette)shooting started in Mexico. They shot at live animals with whatever they had. It has evolved into a highly competitive and...
